It was working, he was rising... until it truly wasn't. The man slipped out of her hands and the force pulled Eleana into an incredibly uncomfortable position. Her breath became hard to catch as her bosom pressed into the boardwalk. Eleana could hear the wheezing as she frantically scrambled to shuffle herself backwards into a safer position. The man seemed alright, she could hear him talking. That was a good sign. Her efforts weren't entirely wasted. Eleana continued to shuffle until she could safely turn over onto her back. Then she began coughing. Goodness, perhaps that hadn't been the best plan.
Where... where did the other woman go? She vaguely glanced around as she tried to catch her breath. The other woman was nowhere to be seen. Well, plenty of help she had turned out to be. Eleana's chaperone had made her way over by this point and was fretting over her. Partly chiding her for being reckless, too. Could anyone really blame her? A man was practically drowning! She waved her chaperone off as she tried to gain her mental footing.
