Oli hadn’t expected the girl—Zinnia, he corrected mentally— to pick up on his ever so vague~ suggestion to skip class, but he was pleasantly surprised by it nonetheless. Her little giggle was only a reward for his badly behaved suggestion and Olixander looked at her with a sly smile as she mentioned changing. He’d happily have helped her but that almost seemed like a step too far to deign offering. At least for now. They didn’t know each other yet.
She seemed to contemplate it on her own just fine without his input and when she finally gave his arm a little squeeze, Olixander chuckled. “Vale,” he chirped. “For chivalry sake of course,” he agreed, indulgently.
With that, they pivoted in the direction of the castle and Oli wondered how far he could push the envelope. Zinnia seemed nice, certainly, and she wasn’t exactly keen to wander away from him either it seemed. Was she… interested too? Or just dumb. Or nice. Or all of the above. He wasn’t always the best with reading social cues, but he was an expert at reading people. Olixander decided to turn his talents on Ms. Zinnia Potts and hedged with a question—
“So... where were your friends when you fell so dramatically?” It wasn’t the nicest, and it was a little blunt, but he was curious. A girl this adorable prancing around alone seemed… weird. It wasn’t like she wasn’t friendly enough to have a plethora of her own friends. How they could have just left her to her own devices he wasn’t sure.
