The sharp no Moon-ssi uttered squeezed its way into Jin’s rib cage and sat there, aching. He knew it must hurt incredibly, but there wasn’t much Jin could do for him except— “Here,” he breathed quietly. Batting Moon-ssi’s hands away from his leg and pressing one cold hand of his own gently against the very swell of where it must hurt, Jin muttered a small spell. It wouldn’t heal anything, but it should dull the ache a little and warm Moon-ssi from the inside. He’d been practicing this spell with Eun-ho back home; spirits knew they both needed it from time to time.
A quick glance at Moon-ssi’s face to confirm it had worked let Jin see more clearly how bruised he looked. Handsome features were creased in pain and Jin wasn’t sure what, aside from his own blood, was splattered there. (Gross.) He wanted to do something to tidy the quidditch player up, but that was really the least of Moon-ssi’s present concerns and Jin couldn’t fault him.
“They’re taken care of,” he answered lightly, in response to a query about the other kappas. “ I remembered reading that if you tip them over and the water spills out of their heads they can’t… do much,” he shrugged. By now the leg lock should have worn off anyway and if they weren’t down here attacking, he could only assume they had scampered off. “Can you stand?” Jin hedged gently. He would take the brunt of Moon-ssi’s considerable weight if it meant hobbling to the infirmary to get him real help. (And if Jin’s cheeks heated a little at the thought of being pressed so close, he tried to shake it. Now was certainly not the time!)
