Jin wasn’t sure what his little attempt to put distance between them did to Ahn-Bo’s face and frankly, he was glad. He hated disappointing the other even when it was strictly necessary (like now) but he recovered as his brother took a step back. Cold wafted into the space he'd just been occupying, but that wasn’t new. Jin made a skeptical face at Ahn-Bo’s comment in the dark. “I can see,” he protested, weakly. It was an unfair assessment, maybe, but the same as he could see there were probably definitely others like him that could see. Partial (or full) beings notwithstanding. And anything with a mouth and tongue with the ability to communicate posed a threat. (At the thought, Jin felt his defenses rise even further, putting him more on edge. He wouldn’t let anyone dare pose his brothers a threat; especially if he could help it.) At mention of disguises, Jin’s head tilted slightly.
His first thought was polyjuice, like the one Taesu-ah used when he went out for his nightly visits. Jin had never been under the effect of polyjuice so he couldn’t imagine how different it must feel. And while he liked the idea of being able to breathe more freely alongside Ahn-Bo and relax enough to maybe even be himself— he doubted he could manage that. But, well, it was certainly a solution. The next suggestion was one that Jin felt as warmly under the collar as his brother intended. He liked that idea the most, but then Ahn-Bo would miss the festivities he was so excited about. Jin released a small breath and shook his head. “I don’t know how I let you convince me into these things,” he muttered, teasingly.
“I think… any of those options could work,” he replied, lacing his hands behind his back and leaning up against the wall shyly. “You chose.” All that mattered was that they weren’t recognized— or at least, that he wasn’t, if Ahn-Bo was already a frequent patron. Jin couldn’t imagine what would happen if Abeoji caught wind that they were here together and… together. (Or anyone else for that matter, spirits!)
