Moon-ssi’s confirmation was comforting as Jin grinned at him. He trusted the little quidditch player implicitly and he knew that if Moon-ssi promised something, he would keep it— no matter the odds. He’d make a mental note in the morning too. It seemed like a good place to hide from Kenji if he needed, though as of late Jin had been having less and less problems with the annoying upperclassman. Maybe it had something to do with Moon-ssi.
He turned back to stare at the stars, this time tucking his hand under his head, as Moon-ssi started to blabber. He made comments and Jin reacted as was appropriate, grinning and smiling and even laughing more than he had in awhile. He was sure both dimples must have made multiple appearances that night. It was a comfort to end the day like this though; especially a day that he’d expected to be so terribly awful. When the chattering stopped, he turned to look and saw that Moon-ssi had fallen asleep.
Jin smiled to himself and studied the quidditch player in private. They weren’t close enough for him to see those freckles again but he did notice the softness of Moon-ssi’s features in the low light as he dozed. He snored ever so lightly, and with his mouth hanging open like that Jin was sure he would drool. But it was all endearing nonetheless. He felt oddly safe beside the other, even against the wrath of the adults that awaited them in the morning. Jin laid back down and moved his upper body 45 degrees so that his head pressed lightly against the other’s. Then, he closed his eyes and somewhere in the room the light flickered out.
He must have fallen asleep quite soundly because he awoke at some point late into the night with his head tucked into Moon-ssi’s chest. The young yangban had an arm around him and Jin could feel his soft breath against his cheek. He had drooled a little, but luckily only on the cushions and Jin stifled a small snicker as he shifted into a more comfortable position. Then, laying his head back on Moon-ssi’s chest, he doze off until morning.
