"I'm reading a book," he snapped. Probably she'd chosen the word to make fun of his posture, but he didn't correct it at the admonishment. He wasn't going to sit up straight and be polite just because she was rich. He certainly wasn't going to surrender the book he was reading just because this girl wouldn't know how to take a hint if someone mailed it to her in a neat package with a pretty bow. "Or at least I was, before I was drafted into an inane conversation with someone who appears to have mistaken me for a junior librarian."
