Her delight brightened his dimming spirits considerably, so much so that he nearly reached for her hand to draw her closer to him. Mabel had always shone like a star — no, like the fullest moon — and Dory hadn't realized until recently just how much he missed her light.

“As did I,” he admitted before taking a small sip of the steaming hot cocoa. His bones had begun to freeze in the shivering temperatures. With any luck, the cocoa would tide him over this last hour until the festival ended and he was able to return home. “I think the organizers were pushing for some warming charms around the area.
