Daff was surprised to find it was Millie at her elbow and she smiled at her cousin fondly in response. "We do love to decorate." Since the kitchen had been hogged by Dahlia and cook all day, the rest of the family had to do something with their time. Daff, like Dahlia, had needed the good distraction from the unsettled feeling of uncertainty as it edged closer and closer to the party.

Everybody had sort of filed in now while she had been lost in her own world, so it seemed, and that was a good enough to keep her mind from wandering further. "You look so polished this evening." Daff noted. She remembered that in between, young Hogwarts age where she wasn't quite old enough to enjoy the party as it was meant to, but not young enough to be sent off to play in about room out of the way either. It felt like ages ago now. "How has Hogwarts been treating you?" Daff took a sip of her cider, determined not to get too caught up in waiting for Elias to arrive.

She noted Dahlia and Zinnia chattering away nearby and poor Miss Thompsett sitting on the sofa for the moment. She felt for Calla's friend and had been thrilled to have the other girl join them, but she did hope Calla would help keep her friend company soon enough. There were only a couple of people missing now...
