Reasonably tall at five feet, eleven inches, Gaius has a broad-shouldered, toned build to go with it—he partakes in whatever sport he can in his free time. His head is topped with sandy hair, and his face punctuated with two very blue eyes; beyond this (and a nose that was clearly hit by one too many bludgers), his looks are not particularly remarkable. Though he is not a fan of most things muggle, he does quite like their clothing, and strives to be as fashionable as possible. He is right-handed.History:

1860 | His first act of magic is a celebrated affair, and sees him summon a toy he had been coveting.
1862 | Cassandra is born. Gaius has no strong feelings on the matter, and largely ignores her, favouring his toys and his studies over a baby that can’t do much of anything.
1865 | Gaius departs for Hogwarts at last! He is sorted into Ravenclaw, after the Hat debates for what seems like eons (but was actually under five seconds) to the eager eleven-year-old on whether he should be in Slytherin or not. Curiosity wins out over legacy, and lands the boy solidly in blue and bronze. He quickly proves to be an eager and skillful student.
1866 | In November, Gwenaelle delivers her final child, a daughter called Octavia. From an early age, the family take to addressing her by her middle name.
1867 | In his third year, Gaius selects Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, and Ghoul Studies as his elective courses. This is also the year that Gaius is informed he is to marry a Miss Celeste Avery, eight years his junior, when she comes of age. Having always expected a betrothal, this does not faze him much.
1869 | In his fifth year, Gaius is quite pleased to be named prefect for his house.
1870 | In the summer, Gaius receives excellent OWL scores. Upon his return to school, he chooses to continue on with Defence Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Potions, Charms, Arithmancy, Herbology, and History of Magic.
1871 | Gaius is ecstatic to be appointed Head Boy.
1872 | Gaius completes his studies at Hogwarts, and is accepted into the auror training program at the Ministry of Magic.
1873 | Gaius’ first major failure in his largely successful life: he does not pass the examinations to move on to his second year of auror training. Distressed and ashamed, the wizard moves out of his parents’ home to live in Black’s, where he tells everyone he simply decided to do something less demanding with his future. Cassandra begins her time at Hogwarts.
1874 | Gaius returns to the Ministry, now working as an Obliviator.
1878 | Brynn goes to Hogwarts. As per family tradition, she finds herself in Slytherin. Gaius loses his virginity at a brothel in the relatively new community of Hogsmeade.
1880 | Gaius marries Miss Celeste Avery in the summer.
1881 | Celeste suffers a miscarriage; Cassandra marries.
1882 | A difficult labour takes Celeste's life and leaves in her place a baby girl, to be called Serpentine. Though he bears the child no ill-will, Gaius is not particularly fatherly in nature, and so leaves her care exclusively to a nanny whilst he focuses his attentions on his work and research.
1883 | Gaius becomes an uncle to Jocasta. He pays no more attention to them than he does his own daughter. Deciding a fresh start is needed to accompany the end of his mourning period, Gaius relocates to Hogsmeade.
1884 | Cassandra dies of the Laughing Plague.
1885 | Gaius begins spending time with Miss November Malfoy; the two marry and he leaves the Ministry to focus on independent research.
1886 | August ushers in the arrival of his and November’s son, Callistus Bryn Malfoy.
1887 | A successful year as Gaius impregnates his wife once more early on. August once more sees the arrival of a son, this one Flavius Aldous Malfoy. Both his father and brother-in-law run for Minister of Magic, and Gaius dutifully votes for the former—or intends to. Unfortunately, he only half-cared and so accidentally voted for Barnabas Skeeter instead.
1889 | In March, a month before their wedding is slated to take place, Brynn’s fiance dies in a rather dramatic accident, throwing Gaius’ young sister into socially-mandated mourning.
1890 | On recommendation from the Chief Warlock Lucius Lestrange, Gaius is appointed to the Wizengamot, joining his father in the prestigious body.
Externally, the Gaius one will find depends on his interest in the moment. An intelligent and curious mind, once he starts investigating some new piece of information or another, one might not get a social call out of him for days, even a fortnight. When he is social, however, he is social, enjoying the company of others, showing off his good-humour, and making friends. A genuinely friendly person, Gaius has little trouble interacting with his equals, though tends to shy away from those he sees as less than he.Other:
He has grown more compassionate since his marriage to November, and grown closer to Brynn since the death of their other sister, but still often tends towards distance where his family is concerned.
Politically, Gaius is a traditionalist—men in power, the wealthy in power, and purebloods to stand over all. He can respect a non-pureblood from a broad perspective, but makes no effort to form close friendships with them.
