September 28, 1895 - Ministry of Magic; Department of Mysteries
So yes, only the Mystery peeps can come and playAnother day in the office, although there was one large case that stood out among the rest that Sweetie kept coming back to. It was all hands on deck, as the fog claimed an entire town and seemingly many lives in the process. There were plenty of possibilities as to what it could be. How it had happened seemingly spontaneously was the most intriguing of all. She was still attempting to look through the files for the Fog incident in Hogsmeade of '88. That artifact certainly had strange properties. The investigative team of volunteers had disappeared for an entire month, to be alive by the end of it all. Perhaps similar properties? But what more, as there are obviously key differences. This fog simply cannot spread into Hogsmeade. There was no telling if anyone was coming back this time.
"Perhaps this is similar to the incident from 1845 in India*. There was a similar fog, individuals disappeared. Only to be recovered two years later with no recollection of time passing. Several artifacts were listed as key components on the sight. The items were said to have properties of [REDACTED]," there were several other cases with similar incidents. None of the artifacts had the exact same outcomes or direct impact. There were times when the fog altered moods or cast illusions, and that would be the tamer examples. Yet Sweetie was unsure if this was simply a new case of an artifact mishap all over again. Had someone done this deliberately? Or was this experimental magic? Something to do with the dead in a way that they still were in the infancy of researching?
Redacted because Kelly doesn't have the info that Sweetie does, but this person does hear what Sweetie is saying."Perhaps this is similar to the incident from 1845 in India*. *Just remember kids, the rest of the Ministry has no idea wtf the Department of Mysteries has in its files. Outside of Sweetie and co., even the wiki don't know ;)

Wanna be there for Sweetie during her post-election slump?
