I would love for this to develop more IC, but what I'm looking to happen (and honestly the only way I see this ever getting him hitched) is if some poor soul volunteers to take Barnabas on as a project. He essentially gets a personality makeover and taught how to behave around women so that they actually like him–a reformed asshole. xD

Some silly pretend 'dates' could ensue, or they communicate with him via whatever would be the magical victorian equivalent of an ear piece while he's on his date and feed him lines/tell him what to do.

I have no idea who would want to do this (maybe his sister Tamsin Skeeter?) but they'd need to have some kind of believable motivation for helping him finally catching himself a wife.

And then we would also need single MC women the person would set him up with/make public introductions for these 'dates'! Likely blind dates, but who knows?

Whether this works or his makeover sticks is up in the air.

(His current specifications for a wife are MC, decent rep, if she has a job she'll quit after they get married, his height or shorter, and he prefers brunettes. BUT maybe the makeover will also make him less picky.)

Don Juan would definitely join in if this was going on with people he knew/was friends with but he doesn't have any connection to Barney personally. He's friendly with other people who work at the Ministry though so maybe that could be an avenue? Someone at the Ministry overhears him in the break room and is like... man you need professional help. brings it up later at the club/pub/whatever and this group of guys are like "you know what would be hilarious? let's adopt him."

LOL obsessed with the group of guys idea! Since they're all younger than him (some by a lot) and from different backgrounds, is there a hobby/place they would all frequent/gather do we think? Poker games, Irvingly casino, etc.? Otherwise he could definitely be griping at a coworker and he's like please let me and my guys help you.

The only caveat I have with this route is that Barney only values opinions/advice from people he respects (and in this case, men who would know what they're talking about), so we might have some struggles IC there. He DOES have a thread going with Apollonia Honeycutt and goes to The Three Broomsticks all the time. She also has an edge because she's a woman, and clearly has to know what women like for that fact alone (according to Barney.) xD

As for all the ladies, I'm game for all for blind dates!
