Appearance:
There's not much about William that's striking. Standing at five feet nine inches, he's on the shorter side of average. His hair, that would be curly if left long, is a dark brown that's almost black. His eyes, while lighter than his hair, are also a fairly dark brown. He's right handed and stores his wand in a tailored pocket up his sleeve. The only potentially striking thing about him - and even that truly isn't something great - is that his athleticism has kept him fit. He prefers muggle clothing of well tailored suits, but will wear robes if the situation calls for it. William, sadly, is well and truly average.
History:
1861: The first snowfall of the season gifts the Abbott's with a first born son. The baby is average sized and screams all through the night.
1862: Much unlike William, Gerald is a saint of a baby and the young toddler immediately dislikes the new attention seeker.
1864: A sister is born, unknowingly completing the trio. Having gotten used to having a playmate, William takes much better to Alice than he initially did to Gerald.
1867: Gerald refuses to share his toy, so Wesley makes them disappear. Their nanny scolds him for being mean to his brother. Their parents celebrate his first act of magic.
1873: Hogwarts is massive, intimidating, and majestic all in one fell sweep. He's separated from his three closest friends, but his common room is warm and always smells delicious so it can't all be bad.
1874: Gerald takes the train with him to Hogwarts, and just like last year's disappointment Gerald is sorted into a different house. He tries out for the quidditch team as a chaser but isn't selected.
1875: He tries again to join the house team and this time he makes it (thankfully! He couldn't stand the embarrassment a second time). He decides to take Care of Magical Creatures and Earth Magic.
1876: Alice joins him in Hufflepuff. This solidifies her as his favorite sibling.
1879: William is promoted to captain of his team. However, his skills aren't enough to lead them to victory as they lose the house cup to the Gryffindor's. Damn Julius.
1880: Taking his NEWTs and leaving school is something he is both eager for and dreads. Due to a less than stellar quidditch record (that he attributes to everyone but himself) William is left without any offers from his favorite teams. Determined to redeem himself and prove that the losses weren't his fault, William joins the Magpies.
1882: Finally! A decent season! The victories his team has achieved boosts his confidence significantly. The coach rewards him with a first string position.
1883: He looks forward to the Quidditch World Cup for months before it arrives. The team that is formed is formidable and he's convinced they will be victorious. They're not - not even in the slightest. What's worse is that the French team wins!
1884: Alice weds after a proper courtship in the early spring. Wesley doesn't pay much attention to the process outside of sending vaguely threatening looks in the groom's direction. He loves and dotes on his sister, this man had better treat her with respect. The summer brings far worse tidings: his father and most of the household staff is exposed to the laughing plague. His mother, following the intuition only a mother can possess, forces him and his brother into the country with her. While most of the staff recovers somewhat, his father perishes soon after falling ill. The remainder of the year is cloaked in mourning and sadness.
1885: William now has to step into his father's shoes far too prematurely. Unsure of how to establish himself of such position, William retires from Quidditch. He still frequents games as often as he's able to, but understands now that his glory (or not so glorious) days are over.
1886: A year of not whizzing around the quidditch pitch does little to break his devotion to the sport. After a series of letters and several business meetings with the previous sponsor, William becomes the sponsor of the Magpies. Alice successfully delivers her first child. His new position is far too exciting for him to really care much about his sister's new baby.
1887: Alice reproduces again. Wesley is more intrigued by this one.
1888: The start of the new year brings the nagging from his mother about marriage. William agrees to frequent the Society circuit more, though he makes no promises that it will prove fruitful. He has no desire to chain himself to someone unsufferable simply for the reputation boost. Besides, life with no wife is quiet and peaceful. Why mess with it?
1889: Alice announces in the spring that she is expecting yet again and a boy joins them in the fall. This time, as William watches the oldest child look on with his mother at the new baby, he decides fatherhood is something he might desire. As such, the hunt for a wife must begin.
Personality: Competitive. Athletic. Jovial. Impulsive. Faithful.
Other: I'll be back for this.
