"It's not that straightforward, Tess." Sage sighed. Locke already had a lot going on, already had littles to care for, he did not need this complication. It wasn't like he could marry her and make things more legitimate. There was nothing to be done. He could not birth this baby, wasn't going to need to pay money to raise it and neither was she. Once everything was settled that would simply be the end of it.

Except it wasn't that simple, no matter how badly she wished it was.
