Nigel Yarwood was gentle, and level-headed — those were some of the things about him that had attracted Enid to him in the first place. Childish for keeping a diary, childish for not knowing what to say, childish for having feelings for someone who was so far outside of her own class.
There was a long beat where she looked up at him and tried to figure out what to say, but found herself tongue-tied. "Time is fine," she finally managed.
