Did You Know?
One of the cheapest homeless shelters in Victorian London charged four pennies to sleep in a coffin. Which was... still better than sleeping upright against a rope? — Jordan / Lynn
If he was being completely honest, the situation didn't look good, but Sylvano was not in the habit of being completely honest about anything. No reason to start now.

The color drained from her face when she realized that he hadn't known. It wasn't as if her father's condition wasn't public knowledge; it was more that he hadn't yet associated her with the scandal! How absolutely careless she was!

"I - I'm not sure what you're talking about," she replied stiffly. She could either meet his accusations with denial or rage; she would try the former first with the hope that he'd stop while he was ahead.

Realization flashed in his eyes. Her father wasn't outed, just like his hadn't been. Looking around quickly to make sure that no one was listening, he turned back to her. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Whomever they are in your family, their secret is safe with me." He said quickly and softly, in case anyone was trying to listen in. Hopefully they wouldn't catch what he had said if there was someone trying to listen in.

She wasn't sure why he was being so nice apparently, but she appreciated it—even if she didn't appreciate his company. She eyed him suspiciously, but nevertheless nodded with the hopes that he would keep to his word.

Not that it really mattered.

"Yeah, okay," she replied, keeping her eyes low. "Would you go now? I'll be fine. I don't want to talk about—that." She at least wouldn't be on the ground, but she'd likely have to wait until her maid returned.

Ace figured that he had dodged a bullet when she hadn't put any pieces together. "Alright. Um... have a good day Miss." He said. And with that, he headed off to work.
