One of the cheapest homeless shelters in Victorian London charged four pennies to sleep in a coffin. Which was... still better than sleeping upright against a rope? — Jordan / Lynn
If he was being completely honest, the situation didn't look good, but Sylvano was not in the habit of being completely honest about anything. No reason to start now.

Ice, Ice Baby {DADA First/Second Years}

Pip found himself waylaid in the second challenge. All right, perhaps from a different angle? He attempted the ice jinx on the moving blocks once again. Hopefully this time he would make it through and get to the third challenge.

#34
Caspian smiled in satisfaction when he proved successful at completing the first challenge. He focused on the blocks and performed the spell again. Hopefully he would do well enough to also put this obstacle behind him.

#35
Nathaniel had found himself stuck on the first challenge for a while now. Even stupid Pip Manwaring (whom he had undisclosed beef with at the moment) had gotten ahead of him a while back. The audacity. Even so he made another attempt to get himself a strong path made of ice.

Not only had she failed this time, one of the blocks had hit her. Her eyes briefly watered with tears but it had not hurt so badly that she could not continue. So once she had her bearings again, she made another attempt. She just hoped she would not get hit again.

With a grin she nodded at her friend's challenge to race, entirely ignoring the nuisance that was Mr Seacoal. She continued with her pursuit entirely determined that despite being behind Miss Shacklebolt she'd make it on her own. She cast the spell again.

Clearly if the ladies weren't going to take him seriously he'd have to prove himself which is what led Toby to begin to actually diligently apply himself to the task at hand, attempting the spell and trying to make it across. A fair damsel had to know she could trust him to keep her safe after all.

Upon passing the second obstacle (and somehow not going facefirst off a block of ice), Gia seemed to forget the assignment. Miss Spaans was obviously the best in the class on this exercise, and Gia wished her well, but now she had others to cheer on. Surely the third task couldn't be that bad. Gia turned around, her smile encouraging; her cheers, highly enthusiastic. "Come on, Miss Greene, I know you can do this!" Gia looked to the other first years and the second years around her. She made a quick decision: the second years already had an advantage and the first year boys could handle themselves. She was here for her girls. Taking another look at her housemate, Gia turned to the last obstacle, raised her wand, and commanded, "Glacius!"

Gus stepped back, watching as Mr. Manwaring once more was unable to freeze the blocks in time. "It's alright, you'll get it." He encouraged, not wanting him to give up. Next time for sure he'd get it. A few others still struggled with the first, and Gus made a mental note of those who seemed like they needed extra help with the spell.

Mr. Gallivan was able to conquer the first, each stepping across with ease to join Mr. Manwaring at the second.

Ms. Rowle was able to freeze the blocks, although she barely fit through to the other side to begin the final challenge. In contrast, Ms. Greene had froze the blocks so quickly that they were far enough apart that she could have walked through with her arms spread out and not touched them. With a bit of concentration rather than trying to impress his peers, Mr. Seacoal joined them. Mr. Pettigrew was able to freeze the blocks with relative ease, sliding past them to join his peers at the final challenge.

Ms. Shacklebolt didn't cast her spell fast enough and had her feet frozen, unable to complete the last challenge.

"Good job everyone! Keep going." Gus knew that class was almost coming to an end.

Planning on wrapping this in the next post or two!<3 I think all the challenges are correct, but if I'm wrong somewhere, please feel free to ping me

Manwaring 5 (2nd) | Pettigrew 8 (3rd) | Gallivan 10 (2nd) | F. Rowle 8 (3rd) | Greene (3rd) | Seacoal 7 (3rd) | Shacklebolt 5 (3rd)

The result was rather good and Chloe continued on easily. Ahead of her Gia cheered her on and Chloe smiled
She focused on the last part of the challenge and cast the spell once again.

Well this wasn't too terrible. Toby pushed forward toward the last section with the same determination.

Nathaniel had finally done it! Natty rushed forward and waited for his turn on the second challenge. When he stepped up, he did his best to freeze the right blocks at the right time.
He is working on Challenge 2

Gia cheered on her housemate as she joined her on the last task. Of course, this meant Gia was slow with her own spell and ended up with frozen feet. Squealing against the cold on her ankles, Gia tried again. Nothing like a little ice bath to shock a lady into attention.

She had done it! Just barely perhaps but she had still done it! A yelp escaped her as the dummy startled her with how fast it was moving towards her. Still, she managed to squeak out the spell.

She is on the last challenge.

Mr. Gallivan was able to freeze the blocks and join his peers at the final challenge. Gus smiled at him.

Whoops. Ms. Greene wasn’t quick enough and her feet were frozen by one of the dummies. Mr. Seacoal had the same outcome. Ms. Rowle seemed to be having terrible luck today as her feet were frozen as well. In fact Ms. Shacklebolt was the only one who managed to freeze the dummies to join Ms. Spaans in completing it.

“Good job everyone!” Gus said, releasing the feet of those who were frozen before helping those at the previous challenges. “Your next class is going to begin soon, so please pack up your belongings.”

Greene 4 | Seacoal 6 | Gallivan 10 | Rowle 2 | Shacklebolt 10
