About: Gilbertine "Gilly" Padgett is an overly responsible 10 year old who will be attending Hogwarts in the summer. Her life isn't exactly the best as she is basically momming her younger siblings and managing money stuff for her mom right now, so she's a bit obsessed with being a little more wealthy (even middle class or slightly higher working class would be good for her). As it is she does her best to show everyone a clean and cultured appearance (or what she believes is clean and cultured)

Friends: Any kid who hangs around Hogsmeade/the Slums/High Street could probably recognize Gilly. During the summer, school-supply shopping meet-ups are also possible for any other students (Gilly wants to know all about Hogwarts and what she absolutely needs new and what can be second/third/fourth-hand if needed)

Enemies: Gilly's a bit of a punching bag, honestly, because as long as she assumes someone has money she doesn't want to be on their bad side. Fellow working class kiddos who get on her bad side or pick on her siblings better beware, because she's pretty good at holding grudges.

Other: Gilly's extended family on her paternal side is entirely open given that she doesn't know who her father is (or who the fathers of her (half-)siblings are). As for romance, she's a little young but daydreams about marrying someone middle class or upper class and getting her family out of the slums. She's also always looking for work for herself to save money for later, but also for her siblings so that they'll be self-sufficient while she's away this year.

  

Hi Tally! I've got a couple possibilities:

Lucy Tatting can usually be found around the High Street--her family owns Twilfit & Tatting's, and she spends a lot of time around the shop, so they would likely run into each other!

James Callum will also be going to Hogwarts in the fall, and he's always happy to have more socializing with people his own age. He can be counted on to be around Hogsmeade as needed, too.

Quincey Honeyduke owns the local sweet shop and Mason Skeeter is the herbology professor at the school!

Welcome, Tally!

This character is brand new as well, and she's commonly found in the slums/high street of Hogsmeade. It makes me think Charley and Gilly would know each other, at least by sight if not name or more. They'd be at different ends of the goals, probably both looking to get close to people with money, but Charley's looking for victims more than benefactors. It could be interesting if that created a source of conflict between them, for one idea.

There's also just a potential for general friendship, Charley's tall tales might pair well with Gilly's daydreaming for instance.

My other character is Millie Potts who's middle class and a few years older than Gilly. There's potential for interactions around High Street (or further north) or once they're in school together.

Henry Berkwood, Hello! Lucy seems like someone that Gilly would be envious of, mostly for the being related to a shop thing. She might hang around there. As for James, it could be fun to see them interact a little bit before they start at Hogwarts together?

Both of them are incoming first years and are Working Class, though Autumn is Muggleborn and lives Elsewhere and only will get a chance to meet Gilly ahead of time if she comes to Hogsmeade for shopping. Hi Tally! Some slightly tenuous connections, sorry xD

James Fletcher is older but a hellion kid around Hogsmeade in the summers. He picks on people but not in a mean-spirited way usuallyyyyy, he's just obnoxious xD

Augusta Robins lives in Pennyworth, the nicer working class area of Hogsmeade, and would keep an eye out for younger neighbours with a lot on their plates in a big-sisterly type of way.
