The Pendergast School for Young Roses
#1
PUPILS
All students must meet the following criteria:
  • 15 to 20 upon admission, and leave by the July 14th following their 21st birthday.
  • Have a minimum reputation of 7 on admission. May be booted at Evey's discretion if it falls below whilst enrolled.
  • Pure- or halfblooded.
  • Upper class, or middle class daughter/ward of a WG member, Ministry department head, Healer in Charge, or Fancy Industry Dude. (Alternative setups to be arranged IC only!)
  • Board. PSYR does not take day students.

SCHOOL POLICIES

1. All young ladies are expected to be in full and appropriate muggle attire at all times, unless bathing or sleeping or going to a place that wizarding attire is preferred.

2. Unless the following are observed, young ladies are expected to remain on school grounds at all times:
— A young lady who is ill but still mobile may be escorted by school staff to Irvingly Infirmary.
— Any young lady who so chooses may attend church services at St. Fergus’ on Sundays; a chaperon will be provided.
— Saturday afternoons are considered ‘free time’ unless an event is scheduled or an engagement made, and young ladies may venture out into Irvingly in (chaperoned) groups.
— A guardian or designate may retrieve a young lady from the school on Saturday mornings, provided she is returned in time for Sunday dinner.
— A young lady may attend any wedding, funeral, or other family function held on a week-day, provided she is accompanied by a school chaperon.
— The fifth of December through the fifth of January are to be spent at home with one’s family.
— The fifteenth of July through the first of September are to be spent at home with one’s family.
— Mrs. Pendergast may, if she chooses, elect to send some or all young ladies in her care to various social functions.

3. All lights should be extinguished before midnight, excepting evenings when late-running functions have occurred.

4. Any impertinent conduct or breaking of the above policies shall result in a strike in the student’s ledger. Three strikes will result in an immediate expulsion—without refund.

5. Any indecent conduct is grounds for immediate expulsion from the school—without refund.

ACCOMODATIONS
Post below to claim!

There are twelve rooms @ PSYR at present. Roommates are assigned by Evelyn herself, following the below guidelines:
  • Your roommate will be no more than two years older/younger than you are.
Evelyn apparently has fewer guidelines than her mother. That said, parental preferences will always be honoured, unless space does not allow for it.

For the sake of organization, I thought it would be best to describe the rooms a bit and let people place their girls! Rooms are given names, rather than numbers, because this is bloody classy.

Every room has the portrait of a famous (but appropriate) witch from history for #moralguidance.

No one middle class gets a suite.

THE ROWENA SUITE
Two queen-sized mahogany canopied beds with pale blue linens in a room adorned with blue and white wallpaper. Also features a large hearth—not hooked up to the floo network!—, two wardrobes of the same wood as the beds, a small matching bookcase, a wing-backed chair, and an ornate bronze writing desk. Adjacent is a bath/dressing room with tub, vanity, and flush toilet. Overlooks the garden.

RESIDENTS: —, —

THE HELGA SUITE

Adjacent is a bath/dressing room with tub, vanity, and flush toilet. Overlooks the street.

Adjacent is a bathroom room with tub and flush toilet, and a dressing room with vanity. Overlooks the carriage house.

RESIDENTS: Anais Beaumont, —

THE GARDEN ROOM
Two queen-sized mahogany beds with pale green linens in a room adorned with floral wallpaper. Also features a large hearth—not hooked up to the floo network!—, two wardrobes of the same wood as the beds, a small matching bookcase, a simple armchair, and delicate iron writing desk. Adjacent is small dressing room though the residents must use facilities elsewhere. Overlooks the garden.

RESIDENTS: @"Odette Lécuyer", @"Mireille Lécuyer"

THE BIRD ROOM
Two full-sized mahogany canopied beds with royal blue linens in a room adorned with bird wallpaper. Also features a tiny hearth—not hooked up to the floo network!—, two wardrobes of the same wood as the beds, a small matching bookcase, a rocking chair, and simple wooden writing desk. Also has a cage containing two actual lovebirds—don’t worry, the housemaids keep them alive! You’ll need to cover them at night, though, to keep them quiet. Adjacent is a small dressing room, though the residents must use facilities elsewhere. Overlooks the brick wall of the building next door.

RESIDENTS: —, —

THE MARIANA
Two queen-sized iron beds with deep green linens in a room adorned with darker wallpaper. Also features a tiny hearth—not hooked up to the floo network!—, two wardrobes made of ash, a small matching bookcase, two wing-backed chairs, and simple wooden writing desk. THE GREEN ROOM

THE CLEOPATRA
Two queen-sized brass beds with jade linens in a room adorned with this wallpaper. Cleopatra herself was the original portrait, but was taken down after she kept going on about the powers of sex, leaving this the only room without a portrait—her portrait can still be found in the library if young ladies are really curious. Also features two oak wardrobes, a small matching bookcase, an ornate globe, and a large oak writing desk. Adjacent is a large dressing room with a tub, though the residents must use facilities elsewhere. Overlooks the carriage house.

RESIDENTS: —, —

THE SPARE ROOM
Almost an afterthought, and the only bedroom on the ground floor. Two full-sized brass beds with grey linens in a room adorned with simple wallpaper. Also features one large oak wardrobe, a small matching bookcase, and a small brass writing desk. It is the only room without any sort of dressing facility or a window, though the latter is made up for by a massive forest painting on the southern wall.
