    Enoch Rosier vs. Theodore Gallivan

The rules were read out. It was great. Charles was rather looking forward to watching Rosier putting the trainee auror in his place. He was certainly more enthusiastic about this duel than others he had overseen so far.

    "Do start, Mr. Rosier."

Enoch took his position with arrogant surety that this was essentially an exercise in schooling the young before he was inevitably awarded the victory. Gallivan wasn't a bad trainee by any stretch of the mark - the program would hardly take somebody who was an utter imbecile after all - but he was still young and did not have Enoch's ten years of experience behind him.

Inclining his head politely Enoch quickly sent a full body bind.

If Theodore had known scarcely anyone else from the department would sign up to this duelling bracket, he may well have tried to withdraw his name, for now it looked like he had any confidence in pitting his skills against already-established Aurors. Too late, at any rate!

Thinking it best not to attempt anything too flashy in case it blew up in his face, Theo put his faith, first off, into a standard shield charm. If anything worked, surely that would.

Charles watched with a slight smirk as Enoch made easy work of the boy he was having to duel. The shield charm had given away almost instantly. "The first round goes to Mr. Rosier. Mr. Gallivan, please start the next."

The result was to be expected but still Enoch felt himself ever-so-slightly preening at having taken the first points. Flicking his wand he attempted to disarm his opponent, not wishing to utterly humiliate a potential future colleague from a good family.

The body bind had barely worn off before Rosier was shooting a spell at him, before he'd gotten out his own! Instinct kicking in, Theodore cast Impedimenta in the hopes of slowing the attack down to buy himself enough time to avoid it.

The impediment jinx did slow the spell down but not enough to save Gallivan from the disarming charm coming his way. "Mr. Rosier wins the duel!"
