Hadley is only a little smaller than the average Victorian lady, and stands at 5’1 ½”. She has pale skin, and a splatter of freckles across her nose and face. Deep brown eyes stare out of a heart shaped face, with full lips. The small Ravenclaw has moderate curves, though she’s still going through a growth spurt, which she finds mildly uncomfortable. Hadley has curly red hair that often makes her stand out within a crowd of people, though she finds that a few potions of her mothers helps make it quite manageable when the humidity piles up in the summer. She often wears simple yet elegant clothes, and doesn’t favor the richer patterns. Her wand arm is her left.
Born Isla Hadley Sinclair, she was a quiet baby, and rarely ever spoke. She progressed slower than her 3 older brothers, which was reason enough to cause alarm in her parents. The small redheaded baby wouldn’t take her first steps until her parents were on the verge of panicking. To their great surprise though, their daughter’s first step also developed into her first run, which was after a butterfly she’d seen in the park.
After that, Hadley progressed at a slower pace, though curiosity first showed itself when she was about 4 and wondered about her mother’s potions. From then on, her mother taught her all [at least all one could teach a small 4 year old with a lisp] she knew about potions; healing, dangerous, beautifying, etc. and even before Hadley had performed her first act of magic, she knew quite a bit more about potions than one would assume.
At the age of 9, Elizabeth was mixing potions with her daughter at her side, when she discovered she had mistaken one of her ingredients with another deadly one. Realizing the fatal consequences of this, the witch encased her daughter in a protective spell right before the cauldron imploded. The effect was disastrous on the entire family, and Hadley and her family.
After their mother’s funeral, Hadley and her brothers took it upon themselves to take care of their father whenever they could. The Sinclairs are a fairly tight knit family, though of course no family is without it’s smaller squabbles. Having 4 older brothers made Hadley a bit less naive, and a bit more sharp minded when it came to arguments.
When Hadley was 11, she received her Hogwarts letter. Her family couldn’t have been happier, and they all took her to get her school supplies. When Hadley was sorted into Ravenclaw, her family could not have been more ecstatic. They thought it was quite a fit for the youngest of the Sinclair children. At the start of her years, Hadley was an active learner, and was quite studious. She was determined to do well. She quickly joined the charms, and potions clubs. Hadley was eager to get back into potions -- since her mother’s passing, she’d rejected doing anything involving potion making, but once she attended Hogwarts, Hadley couldn’t keep away from it for long.
Although not immediately interested in arts and music, Hadley found that drawing and painting was quite soothing to her, and took it up as a leisurely activity, as well as joined the art club in her second year. In addition to that, she discovered she loved singing and playing the pianoforte through music class, and joined the music club to further improve her skills.
Come Hadley's 3rd year, she found out that her father is courting another woman. A widow named Willow Lightwood her husband had died and she had come out of mourning the previous year. Anxious to meet her, Hadley met both mother and daughter during the summer vacation. She, as well as her brothers, were surprised that they found the woman and her daughter quite pleasant, and to their fathers delight, got along quite well with them. Willow was not a constant potion maker like Hadley's mother, but she was a healer. When Hadley found out that Willow was to be her stepmother she felt both sad and delighted at once. Her family was moving on, but they would never forget their mother.
Hadley currently remains a prominent presence within the clubs and in her classes, though other than that, she is a quiet student, and keeps to herself whenever gossip and rumors were spread around. Hadley found strangely that Quidditch did not excite her as it did most of her classmates. Having a fear of heights might have had something to do with it, but she nonetheless attends quidditch games to quietly support her fellow classmates.
