Winston Umbra

A little bit ethereal and not quite in touch with this world, Winston is a kind but unintentionally chaotic soul. He lives in his own world and tends to forget that reality exists.

Former schoolmates: Winston was a Hufflepuff from 1879-1886. He had a tendency for wandering and playing with the ghosts. He shone best in Ghoul Studies. He was bullied often for things such as his heterochromia and his flightiness. He did not notice this but did have some friends that took care of these sorts of things for him. Prefects were likely used to having to sort of shepard him back towards the common room at night or fish him out of the passages or forest.

Co-workers: Winston worked at the Ministry Spirit Division for just about a year from 1886-1887. He kept forgetting he had a job there so was not the most reliable employee and was let go. He traveled and wrote academic papers about various ghoulish creatures. He then published a book in 1892 and is due to begin teaching at Hogwarts in the 1893-1894 school year.

Friends & Such: Winston is pretty indiscriminate in who he befriends. So this is pretty open. Most he probably befriended in school and wrote letters to when the mood struck or if they wrote first.

Romance: Winston has no experience with this. Anyone interested would likely need to become the pursuer as Winny would not even realize he is feeling romantic or sexual attraction.

Hello fellow bullied Hufflepuff ghost enthusiast. I feel like Ford would have covered for him / picked up some slack while he was being flighty in spirit div because that's just the kind of person Ford is, then eventually realize Winston hadn't even noticed and stop xD Might have been annoyed about it for a bit but would definitely be over it by now and back to being friendly.

Bit of a stretch but I've got Thea here — two years older and a Ravenclaw, but also a victim of bullying (by purists). I could see them having potentially bonded at some point over shared experiences (and perhaps shared bullies, as I'm certain there would be some overlap), but I shall leave it in your court on that.

  

Eyyy he and Harry were in the same year. I think they could very reasonably be friends?

And obvs Fiona Little is his coworker if he needs to nurse for anything. XD

I would love a thread with Reg! Any event (minus any explicitly purist ones) could potentially work for Winny since hes upper class. Then he can meet Gus when Winny officially starts in September unless there's a pre-school start staff shindig.
