Victorians could hire 'professional mourners' to attend their loved one's funeral. These people would partake in the procession and were not allowed to speak, just look awfully sad! — Rune

"The Prodigal Sister" for Ophelia Devine. Faked deaths, scandal, and schemes!
Kristoffer was going to be great at this, because he was great at everything. Also his memory was greater than everyone else's, because he bet no one else had ever lost their virginity somewhere exotic like Morocco. Hell, he bet no one else had even lost their virginity. Inexperienced losers.

I've seen dark nights
Whoa-oh dark nights
But only the darkest light can deliver my soul

Why had she picked up that copy of Witch Weekly? Every time Ambrosia Shinnick had ever picked up a copy of Witch Weekly, it had resulted in some terrible decision or another. This time, she'd picked it up on a whim - maybe the main article would provide her with some much-needed advice to succeed again.

That was what had brought her here, to the House of Lytton floor, perusing fashion plates and studying fabrics. Step #2: New Wardrobe! It wasn't really a bad idea, especially since her first real season had been cut short before beginning, and fashion evolved so very quickly. The moment a dress was finished, the trends could change. Ambrosia needed to be on top of things this season if she wanted to net another success. Hopefully this time without the dying part.

"I'm thinking a light blue," she said, not really to anyone in particular as she studied one of the fashion plates, "perhaps with an enchanted pattern of clouds on the skirt...unless someone's already done that this year, or enchanted dresses have fallen out of favor." Shaking her head, Ambrosia sighed. "Fashion moves far too quickly..."

Since arriving in London Caroline had frequented the House of Lytton several times. She rather enjoyed the fashion shop and while she had previously arrived to have measurements taken and select the dresses to be made, this time was different. There was something special in picking up one’s gowns, fashioned just for them, that would make any girl giddy. Indeed Caroline was in a grand mood this morning when she arrived at the fashionable London shop to collect the gowns she had purchased. A good wardrobe was important if she were to be successful.

Despite her excitement she was in no hurry to get her gowns and and leave. Indeed she’d take a look at them, but first she wanted to see if anything new had come out. Then there were the accessories to look at and - Oh! She could spend all day in this shop alone.

Caroline was looking through fashion plates pursing for something she might have missed on her last several trips to Lytton when a young lady across from her began speak. “It really does.” Caroline commented lightly, flipping to the next page she was looking at before focusing her attention on the design the other young woman was looking at. “I think that light blue would suit that just beautiful though.” Personally she’d like it in the soft evening twilight colors of oranges and pinks if she were to enchant it. But she also tended to like gowns that were barely enchanted, subtle twists on what she currently had. But this young lady seemed the type who could pull an enchanted blue sky to be grounded on her skirts.
