So, from what I understand of Echo's natal family, their father was struggling to keep their upper class status due to money stress and that's why all of them got into arranged marriages, so Honoria's branch could have just had more realistic views on where their family was going and handled it with grace. Your characters father could have been a son of a younger brother of Echo's father or something. So distant relation, but pureblood so Echo doesn't mind as much
