My Darling Girl
Oh Leni you have no idea how proud you've made me!
Goodness, I was so nervous to hear any news that to try and avoid bothering your brother and sister at home, I've been down at the Three Broomsticks talking to Mrs. Honeycutt to just keep my mind preoccupied. I'm certain I've chatted her ear off far too often, but she's remained patient with me, bless her. But do not worry, I wanted you to let me know on your own time, I'm sure you've been busy settling in.
I'm so glad to hear that you and Natty are going to be keeping each other company in the same house. Now you mustn't be afraid to make your own friends in your year darling.
And of course you've potential! Call me biased but you've enormous amounts of potential, and don't let anyone else let you think otherwise! I'm so pleased to hear you are adjusting to your classes. Do you think you've found a favorite yet?
How peculiar that Muggle boy should have ended up in Slytherin - I'd have thought it was quite rare for that to happen, they seem to be a rather picky lot.
Do let me know how you get on with that Ravenclaw seer girl. I don't like the idea of her being left on her lonesome for bullies to pick on her. If you need me to send you extra muffins from Cook don't hesitate to write, alright?
Leni I'm so excited for you for this next chapter. I miss you as only a loving and doting mother should, but I'm sure you'll blossom beautifully at Hogwarts. Until I see you at the Christmas Holidays, I remain
Your Loving Mother
