Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

What governs us tonight?

Mason was amused, that etiquette was something to pursue after school, but perhaps Miss Potts did have the same idea. He was fairly useless at the finer points of society, though knew his manners obviously and enough not to embarrass himself too thoroughly, but that likely came from not wanting to disappoint his mother at any stage. Morwenna had that firm sort of support that kept him in line with just enough fear to make it really stick.

"As an only child, I'm afraid she doesn't have anyone else to be proud of," Mason chuckled. The only child of a single mother, they didn't know any different, considering his father had passed when Mason was a child. "I do enjoy seeing former students and what they have accomplished, regardless of whether or not it was in my class." Mason wanted his class to be useful, to give the students an opportunity to try something different. It was critical for so many different careers that he did his best to make sure they were all prepared for whatever it is they needed Herbology for after graduation.

He was, surprisingly, enjoying the conversation as well. Mason didn't often find himself engaged in a thoughtful discussion like this often. It was a pleasant turn of events.
