Following his deepened romance with Victor Daphnel, Leonid had moved out of the family home a year or so before. With the announcement done of the Vanishing of several of his family members, he had decided to 'come home' for the night. He did not feel like being apart from his family members. Though he wondered if any of the others would float home to the main homestead, even if just for dinner which had yet to be served. He felt numb. He had been going through motions because he was needed at work and he could not fall apart.

But Nemo and Katia were gone. As were his brother in law and other family. He could barely process his loss with everything that was piled on him. "They got her age wrong," he said to no one in particular as he peered at the paper that had been published earlier in the day. "Bethany, I mean. She was only twenty-one... they put that she was thirty-one." Bethany had been 21 and Irma had been 19. They were too young to have simply Vanished without having lived a fuller life.

And they had gotten her age wrong.
