Hogwarts Professor Claimed in Collapse
Failure of Greenhouse Structure Under Investigation
Tragedy strikes Hogwarts halls again as another professor passes on the grounds. Professor Mason Skeeter, a tenured teacher with a decade of experience at the school, was killed in a greenhouse collapse on the grounds. The professor of Herbology and the most recent Head of Hufflepuff House, was crushed under the weight of the structure he was fixing up on the grounds. The cause of the collapse is still under investigation, but it was a greenhouse that was not used for classes that the professor was said to have been constantly working on, trying to fix it up on his own accord.
Colleagues and students alike had only good things to say about the Head of House. "You could always count on Mason for anything and everything. He had one of the biggest hearts and was there for everyone – his friends, his family, his colleagues and his students. He didn’t know how to quit on people, least of all his friends. I’ll miss him more than I could ever say. Hogwarts will never be the same without him." Said Gus Lissinton, professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts. Headmaster Black added, "Skeeter was a dedicated professor for ten years, patiently nurturing students of all backgrounds and abilities."
Herbologist and former student, Gemma Simpson had this to say, "Professor Skeeter took an energetic, clumsy first year and made a herbologist out of her. It’s everything I could have ever wanted it to be and I couldn’t have done it without his patient guidance. His unwavering dedication and love of his craft will live on in the students he has taught."
Professor Skeeter is survived by his mother, Mrs. Morwenna Skeeter of Hogsmeade, and cousins on his father’s side. A simple wake at Asphodel Cemetery followed by a small celebration of life at the Hogsmeade Hall, will be held on July 7th. Friends, students and colleagues are welcome to attend.
