Blood Status: Halfblood

Appearance:
General | Peggy looks like a well-manicured lawn, which is just the way she likes it. She exercises only in moderation in order to avoid putting on too much muscle. She uses copious amounts of lotion to keep her skin and hair soft to the touch. She has dark brown hair and eyes.History:
Expressions | Peg can usually be seen smiling, though those who know her can distinguish between her patronizing smile (doled out to those who have said something inarticulate which she has decided not to remark upon), her self-satisfied smirk (barely contained when she has delivered a backhanded compliment she expects her conversational partner will not realize the nuances of for several moments, if ever), and a look of genuine pleasure (usually given in exchange for validation of her poise, cleverness, or talent). Her other expressions, by comparison, are subtle: a slight downward turn of one corner of her mouth, a fleeting wrinkle on her brow, the faintest hint of a pout.
Deportment | Years of instruction before even reaching the Hogwarts etiquette classroom has left Peg with a habit of good posture which is hard to relax even with her friends. Since she doesn't want to be perceived as the sort of person who is always uptight, she ends up moving more often than not. She pays attention to her footfalls, treading lightly and gracefully even off the dance floor. She likes to imagine that someday a suitor might observe her when she is unaware of it and be impressed by her uncanny grace.
Fashion | Impeccable.
Accessories | She likes them, and so can usually be seen wearing as many as can be considered tasteful. Jewelry, hair pins, tiaras or headdresses when the occasion calls for it. She prefers gold to silver and gemstones like sapphires or emeralds to diamonds, as they stand out better against her skin and hair.
Scent | Peggy's aunt gifted her a full toiletry set last Christmas with everything scented honeysuckle and rosemary, which Peg has adopted as her official 'young woman' scent.
Face Claim | Auli'i Cravalho
Personality:The first moment of real import in Margaret Magnolia Clark's life occurred at age five. She had not quite begun lessons with a governess, but had been bored enough on a rainy day to sneak into the lesson of her older sibling to pester them to play. Tiny Peg took to the history better than her fidgeting brother, a fact which the governness brought up several times over the next few days. Presumably the governness' intent was to shame Peggy's brother, but the real, lasting impact was that Peg realized what she most wanted in life: to be constantly showered with praise.
If it surprised anyone that she was sorted into Slytherin at Hogwarts, they hadn't been paying attention. No matter the subject, Peggy was driven to be the absolute best — and if she could not manage to be the best, her defense mechanism was to declare the subject 'silly' and a waste of her time. This attitude was rather encouraged by her mother, who (if it was not evident in her choice of the name Margaret Magnolia) had her own tendencies towards the haughty and melodramatic.
In her early years at school Peggy establishes herself as the sort of girl who is good at everything — a persona she carefully curates, because anything she is not good at she takes great pains to hide from view until she is good at it. This does earn her some of the validation she was seeking, particularly from less experienced or less well-off schoolmates who had not been given such extensive lessons prior to beginning school. Obnoxiously, however, she isn't the only one occupying that particular position. She realizes her disdain for Miss Moon quite early, but mostly succeeds in obscuring it from others at first. It isn't until the beginning of third year, when Peggy chooses her final elective based off of Miss Moon's selection (in order that she might have another stage on which to demonstrate her superiority) that one of her friends clues in to the growing sense of competition between the two of them (or at least the growing sense of competition from Peggy's side — whether it is reciprocated at this stage is a matter of some doubt in hindsight). Her friend's gentle teasing about her rivalry with Sarah Moon does nothing to diminish it.
The following years bring puberty and OWL exams, the latter of which Peggy finds herself considerably more interested in than the former. Aside from having frequent opportunities to practice the pimple-vanishing charms her older cousin taught her, puberty provides exactly nothing that Peg needs at this moment in her life. It does eventually yield more targeted maternal attention during holiday breaks, however, which is nice; she enjoys hearing her mother talk about what a charming young lady she will soon be becoming. It is perhaps due to her mother's influence that Peg never showed an inclination for Quidditch (too boyish) but did involve herself in several clubs, which seemed an opportunity both to practice social skills ahead of a proper debut and take on some leadership roles. She prefers social leadership — which can be abdicated at any point and connotates no real responsibilities — over the prefect badge that one of her dormmates receives at the beginning of fifth year.
Peggy is mildly disappointed not to have received a professor's recommendation to study Gobbledegook — but seeing as she was more interested in the prestige of being invited to something selective than in actually learning Gobbledegook, it's a very fleeting disappointment. Besides, she didn't have room for it in her timetable anyway; she's already taking seven courses: Alchemy, Astronomy, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Divination, History of Magic, and Transfiguration. She also takes this opportunity to drop her club participation across the board, which limits her socializing primarily to other NEWT students (her peers; everyone else is now intellectually lesser).
Every weekend and school holiday during her seventh year not already devoted to studying is used to prepare for her debut, which Peg assumes will be an immediate and grand success. Her mother offers, of course, to plan a private Coming Out after her graduation, but the idea of letting some of her less worthy classmates (like Sarah Moon) descend the stairs while she waits in the wings is so grating that she fights back vehemently against the idea.
Margaret Magnolia Clark is, at eighteen years of age, entirely convinced of her own superiority in all matters — that is, all matters that matter. She has, however, made a conscious effort not to be too obnoxious about it.Other:
- An accomplished reader, Peggy devours fiction and poetry — though to maintain an air of superiority over her peers who read cheap novels and penny dreadfuls, she gravitates towards 'classics.'
- Speaks French and recognizes enough Italian to follow an opera but cannot converse. Recognizes enough Latin to guess the impacts of unfamiliar spells.
- Plays piano (well but dispassionately) and harp (not especially well, but since most people don't have a harp handy and she is seldom called upon to demonstrate, she's happy to claim she's much better than she is)
- Engages in regular pencil sketches and watercolors, with which she has tolerable skill but little real interest.
- Can ride a pennyfarthing bicycle and ice skate but engages in either activity for no more than 20 minutes at a time.
