The Candle Lighting fundraiser in support of St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries held yesterday at the Ministry of Magic building ended in tragedy, with at least four dead and countless more injured following a break-in in the Department of Mysteries.

Individuals unknown are responsible for the incident, which this publication is forbidden from detailing under penalty of imprisonment. Witnesses and afflicted have already had their memories altered by the Ministry's Obliviators, the tragedy replaced instead by those of a peaceful meadow.

The Ministry of Magic offices are closed entirely to the public, and only essential personnel—such as aurors and Unspeakables—will be reporting to work before the new year.
