Site-Wide Plot 8: The Fog
With Hogsmeade and Irvingly fully enveloped, site-wide plot 8 is in the works! A strange magic-killing fog began in Salem Square before spreading southward to swallow the neighborhoods of Hogsmeade. What does this mean for magic characters? Where did it come from? Will it keep going til London? How do we stop it?
If you want to answer that last question, you'll have to participate ;)

Site-Wide Plot 8: FAQ
1. What is the impact on vampires?
The fog has no impact on vampire physiology; however, vampires can
wander the fog as they please.
2. What is the impact on werewolves?
We won't know until the transformations are supposed to happen, now, will we? ;)
3. Can we use threads set before the SWP announcement for the stamp?
As long as they fit other requirements, yes, but you can only use one thread pre-dating this announcement! (6/17)
4. Owl mail doesn't work, right?
No. Owls are largely unaffected but at
your discretion your character's owl may be slower/more confused than usual. Owls use echolocation more than they use vision, fun owl fact of the day!
5. How do I get in/out of the fog?
The listed Ministry personnel have access to the trains. Other than that: good luck, I guess?

Would it be possible to get a timeline of fog events thrown up here for reference? When it hit different points and when various facts/rumors came out (the no magic thing, the squib fearmongering, etc)?
I'd totally be willing to put it together if you want. I just keep having to pull up the DP forum and click through things to figure out dates and it's annoying. xD

That's on my (long) to-do list so if you could put it together that would actually be super helpful! :D

Question! Since the fog has made transportation to and from the Ministry difficult for those that live in the caverns, will the Ministry be bringing some variation of the blood bank to Hogsmeade or are registered vampires just SOL until it clears?

Morwenna's Dept. is sending blood bank blood to Hogsmeade Hospital for registered vampires to pick up! THANKS MORWENNA.

Question! For non-emergency Ministry employees who (1) live in Hogsmeade, and (2) don't have train passes, are they expected to commute to and from work? If not, how is that currently affecting how the Ministry is run?

So basically if you don't have a pass and you live in Irvingly or Hogsmeade, you're not expected to show up to work. (You're also not getting paid.) The Ministry is operating on Emergency Protocols so tbh gobstones is the lowest on everyone's priorities.
The list isn't to say that certain offices aren't in at
all, but also if y'all were to take an impromptu vacation no one would be... super... offended...
The Ministry is extra hierarchical at this time and also extra busy, especially in any offices that are operating at limited capacity.
In terms of who actually has a pass -
Public Information Services
Department of Mysteries
Quidditch League
director but no one else
Ed Grimm & his assistant head
Portkey Office
Floo Network
Portkey Regulatory
Magical Transportation
International Magical Cooperation, but not to interns or international liasons
Just Elinor in the Pest Advisory Bureau
Beast Division, Spirit Division, Beings Division, Dragon Restraint but
not researchers
Werewolf Capture Unit
Morwenna, her assistant head, & secretary
Accidental Magic Reversal Squad
Everyone in MA&C
Head of Misuse of Muggle Artefacts, Head of Improper Use of Magic
Hit Wizards & Obliviators but
not trainees
Department of Investigation but
not trainees
Auror Office but
not AITs or instructors (who aren't really in anyways because it's summer)
Head & Assistant Head & Employees of MLE. No passes to - lawyers, clerks, interns,
unless they are taking a case before the Wizengamot which is
very unlikely, and then it's only for that specific day.
Office of the Minister
No passes -
anyone in the Wizengamot
unless there's a case going up, which, again, very unlikely
experimental charms
research committee
muggle liason office (except the head)
goblin liason, house elf relocation
dueling commission
ludicrous patents
gobstones association
department of magical education
wizard examinations authority
apparition test centre
welcome witches, magical maintenance, security wizards (if they ALL lived in Hogsmeade security would probably get one pass, but none are played so lol assuming some are in London)
