The Rebels know each other from school and their respective social circles. They are close, companionable and all rather opposed to the status quo in their own way.
They have 'English' names but may have chosen to 'Irish-ise' them which was the fashion among the Irish UC set at the time!
Her father is/was a prominent politician in Ireland, he is a liberal in support of home rule. She was given a great deal of latitude and while she has done the 'right' thing socially and is either married or widowed but this just gives her the freedom to be as outspoken as she likes. She is a painter of some note, specialising in magical society portraits but has a bee in her bonnet about her exclusion from the various painter academies despite being recognised as an exceptional and talented painter. She did a notable magical portrait of someone of important (OPEN).
Her schooling is open, but she had Christabel have known each other from girlhood. She is a little more agnostic about Ireland's position as independent of England but is part of the Celtic revival. She liked Victor and thought marriage to him would be good for Christabel.
An heir that is in danger of being a disappointment to his parents. Despite being a staple of the establishment he has grown to be rather anti-establishment. However, he is an only child and his father hates his own brother enough to not disown his son. There was an expectation that he might excel in politics or in the ministry however he hasn't the tact to make much of a go of that. What he is is bright and an excellent writer with an ability to write deeply persuasive texts. His writing might very well be considered seditious by the more staid members upper echelons of society as it talks a lot of gender and class equality but it's popular among younger and more liberal UC and of course the WC and MC who are encouraged by it. Think a social problem novelist, with better connections than Dickens.
He does believe in Ireland's independence, and is considering making a run for a new parliament in Dublin if it appears - mostly to make a point, but is aiming for the Wizengemot first. He and Christabel have been friends since before puberty. He encourages some of her worst traits of rebelliousness and being outspoken.
Set apart all her life by her ethnicity, Sadhbh for a long time wanted desperately to fit in and as such has mastered every womanly art to a degree that would make Olivia Pendergast sit up and take note. However, she was jilted shortly after her debut by a man who cited her ethnicity as an impediment but she considers herself British and found that the worst part of the snub - that he didn't consider her British enough to marry. She may have made another match but she now see's her ethnicity as a badge of honor and not something she should count against her. Her paintings feature ethnicity as a prominent theme.
She attends the Hermetic order with Christabel because she thinks rich white muggles pretending to do African and Middle Eastern magic is hilarious.
So as his names suggests he is based on a real person- but his played name is open. He was a second son, and in true Victorian style he trained in the law, as it was expected that he would need to 'do' something. His relationship with the law and legal practice is open but he is also a painter and playwrite. This is his true passion.
He is liberal in his views, supporting women's vote and favoring equality of ethnicity and class. He is a trade union supporter and a theoretical socialist. He had an elder brother who died and as a result of the death he became the heir which has allowed him to indulge his passion for writing and producing artistic ventures. He is one of the friend group, and tried to talk Christabel out of marrying on the basis it wasn't right for her. He may have a mistress, asylum wife and/or illegitimate children. This is who he is based on
A close friend of the Greybacks. As young men they were as thick as thieves, as close as brothers, and he was as often at the reach as the Greyback family. He left for some years and has kept in touch with the Greyback brothers via letter, but has been vague as to his job, not on purpose but just because he didn't think it was significant and the Greybacks believe that he is just an official working for the Romania/Bulgarian/other ministry of magic.
He has now returned to take the postition of head of the werewolf capture unit. He is keen to reignite his close friendship with his long time friends...the Greybacks are stressed out by this for obvious reasons!
He and Meserimus have known each other a long time, he has come to London ostensibly to work on a research project with Meserimus. He is staying in Meserimus Hogsmeade home with him and his family for the summers.
The pair are researching the intersection between potions and alchemy, specifically if potions can be used to augment the purity and efficacy of alchemical works (Get better quality gold through the use of potions) and to see if potions transmuted potions ingrediants work better or worse than a real item. The aim being that it would be useful/easier to transmute a common substance into a rare potions ingrediant
Intended to be a TEMP but feel free to keep him around for your own reasons (Oh look Hogwarts needs an Alchemy prof!?)
WELCOME TO AVALON GLEN
Hello friends! Before we get started, I do have a few policies regarding my adoptables:
THE GLEN
Avalon Glen ("The Glen") is an unplottable patch of of land between two likewise unplottable mountains. It is not accessible via apparition, nor are any of the fireplaces hooked up tot he floo network (with the exception of the local pub, Smoke & Scale, and the Yarwood homes). Indeed, it is impossible to enter unless you already know where it is—and for good reason: in addition to the large manor house of the Yarwood family, patrons of the Glen as well as a nearby magical village, it is home to a dragon reservation for the native Welsh Greens, boasting anywhere from 5-10 keepers and, at last estimation, approximately 42 dragons. THE GREAT AWAKENING
Hello friends! Before we get started, I do have a few policies regarding my adoptables:
THE FAMILY ROWLE
Patriarch Algernon Rowle is a control freak in the extreme. In fact, he is such a control freak that he eventually just put all his children under the Imperius Curse so he wouldn’t have to worry about them ruining everything. Unfortunately for him, he is in a coma following a stroke and the children are Awake Now. WHAT WILL THEY DO ONCE THEY PIECE TOGETHER WHAT HE HAS DONE? Our Primary Cast

On the surface, he is the epitome of a traditional pureblood member of the ton—reserved, formal, and seemingly rigid in his ways. His attire is always impeccably tailored, and he adheres to the highest standards of decorum. Vera considers him insufferably boring and stuffy, viewing his public adherence to tradition and propriety as a sign of a dull personality.
However, behind the scenes she couldn't be more wrong. In his youth he was a keen underground boxer. How he is the mysterious Viper (or some other pseudonym), that runs many of the better underground boxing events, as well as dog fighting and periodic dragon baiting events. If it's illegal and rich men like doing it - chances are he has a hand in it. He also deals in rare and sometimes illegal magical artefacts.
He has been married at least once before - and has children of varying ages, but no living sons. He needs an heir.
He is a friend of her parents, possibly more her mother than father. They each think the other is boring and 'typical'. Her mother at least see's Vera as a potential source of heirs for him. No specific endgame, but open to chat - but I would like them to be terrible influences on each other.
The very definition of a found family - the performers have a strong sense of solidarity born out of shared experiences of marginalisation and a desire for acceptance and dignity. While there are some who can 'pass', most have their own reason to not participate in what could be considered 'normal' society. For some it is a physical distinction that sets them apart, their history or personal circumstances, and for a few its as much as they just don't want to play by societies rules. They care for each other and protect each other from the outside world, even if relationships can be rocky within the show.
The Mermaid was never good in school, never wanted the drudgery her parents expected of her - service or a factory - neither suited. She performs in a large glass tank on the stage in a tail. She doesn't appear to use magic in her act, other than to accentuate the aesthetics of her act, which makes it all the more impressive.
RESERVED
Running from who or Merlin knows what, the 'Spider' joined up with Ephram in the Asia. Her performance is Corde/Tissue lisse acrobatics. No one in the show knows much about her past. She rarely uses magic in her act.
RESERVED
A man whose past is less than salubrious, where he learned his skills is the subject of lots of stories - he tells everyone a different version - so its hard to know whats right - if any of them are. He keeps to himself, doesn't share a great deal.
His act has its basis in traditional trapeze but augmented by magic that he performs wandlessly while doing the show - perhaps the most impressive part of his performance.
This act involves magical creature displays and trained performances - like traditional lion taming but with magical beasts. Where possible the creatures are made to display their most notable magical quality. It is a dangerous act and he is badly scared in places where the trick has gone wrong.
Married to 'The Rider', she assists him in some of his tricks, he is a self conscious and quiet man. Ephram likes him a great deal but he finds Ephram a bit much most of the time.
In her act she performs tricks with magical equine, showing off their beauty and performing tricks while on horseback. She is married to The Tamer. They eloped together to escape the judgement of his family, who didn't think she was good enough for him.
She is kind and maternal, a bit of a mother to all the members of the show
He trained as a clown, legitimately trained, working in Varieté shows all across Europe. He has a more extensive magical education than his role would imply. His act involves using harmless jinxes and hexes to entertain the audience and using transfiguration magic for comedic effect, changing their appearances or props in surprising ways.
He was a second son, who really couldn't cope with the 'spare' designation and basically noped out of his life! He has a wife and children - somewhere.
Covered from head to toe in magical tattoos - the paintings act is predominantly posing showing off the tattoos to best effect. The images change and shift making it a fascinating display. They also do some sword swallowing, or similar, something else while they are showing off their tattoos
Born a Maldictus - along with their whole family, each has a different form, but the audience delights to watch in horror in as these siblings transform into their cursed forms.
An Eldest born son, or rather he thought he was, but his father revealed to him that he was his mothers bastard. As a boy/young teen he was mistreated by his father, and he decided that life on the run was preferable to his treatment. He joined the show as a fire breathing, performing tricks with real flame, augmented by magic.
A squib in a family that really didn't like that, there was a time when they thought they might actually be in danger if they stayed at their home. They are not a real seer, but instead pretends to be such, and pretends they are not a squib. Ephraim knows- or at least suspects that they are not real, but also doesn't care.
The brothers had wanted to be performers in life but their families expectations hadn't allowed that. When they met an untimely end together, they decided to come up with an act together, making the most of their ghostly abilities in their performances.
He claims to be a part giant but this isn't confirmed - Ephraim isn't even convinced he is a wizard. But he knew about Hogwarts so the story at least has enough plausible deniability to suit Ephram. The giants act is mostly marvelling people at his height - but he also has a strong man act that goes as part of it.
Another performers whose magical status is in question. She either has very little magic, or none at all - really no one has seen her use magic and her skills are more impressive as a result. Like the giant she knew enough to convince Ephraim he wasn't breaking any rules by having her join the show, but he didn't look too hard at it. She performs trick shots and other feats of accuracy.
She met Ephraim in the continent, she had already been on the run for a while before. She was one of the first to join the show- initially grateful for the protection - and Ephraims ability to negotiate better rates for her performances. Few of the performers know that she is one of the better paid members of the show - because she was in so early and was able to get a good percentage rate for her performances.
These are just some suggestions, or acts/people mentioned in Ephrams posting. There is capacity and scope for other acts, even similar or related skills - No limits on blood or part humans, indeed the more unique the combination the better! It's also somewhere where criminals and those seeking to reform their lives could hide out, not be asked too many questions and have the rest of the show deny they've ever heard of you if the cops ask.

She's got a better head for business than Daff does, so is likely to find some errors or impractical practices that Daff is completely open to fix. Pretty open and flexible, so reach out if you have something that sorta fits! |
![]() The Sweetheart [Francesca Corney] | unattached | 7+ repopen occupation Nice to a fault, the Sweetheart is the optimist and likely the youngest of the group. She may be the only MC deb or pursues some sort of post-Hogwarts education, but she is a ray of sunshine and friendly to the point of flirtation. She's likely also a little gullible and naïve, but has a good heart and wants nothing more than to marry and start a family. |
![]() The Shop Assistant(s) | With the opening of Wildflowers in late October 1892, Daffy quickly found the need for a shop assistant (or two!) to help her around the shop, with deliveries and Daff is fully prepared to train her employees in designing arrangements if they wish! She pays as well as she can, but this would suit a working class or lower middle class woman who is probably unmarried. Could also work for a youngish MC lass who wants to do something with her free time after marriage? I'm not super picky. Basic math and writing skills required for inventory and invoicing! |

For Morrigan
Hello friends! Before we get started, I do have a few policies regarding my adoptables:
The Seldens, originally from the Midwestern United States, are an upper Middle Class family with a dark secret — there is an apparent blood curse that has impacted the family since 1785. Female Seldens die of a "wasting illness" that healing magic can't touch. Morrigan here has been researching dark magic — going so far as to make an Unbreakable Vow — for the past decade+ of her life in an attempt to break the curse.

- Please contact me prior to making an app! (Discord or PM)
- I am notoriously bad at picking play-bys, so Mr. Lewis is open to whatever suggestions you got; just run them by me first <3 Be aware that, however, if one of his sons are already taken (you can find their adoptable post here!), he will need to look somewhat similar to them (i.e. at least partially match ethnicity).
- Please fill out the family section (you can find related some characters in Rho's profile) and give at least 3 traits in the personality section
- Anything in bold is something I would prefer not to be changed when you start making your app; if you have questions or want to bounce ideas off me, feel free to reach out! (you’ll notice not much here is bolded ;) )
- I’m pretty lenient on activity – I would, obviously, prefer you to be active with my plottables but sometimes IRL happens; if one of my plottables goes inactive during AC, I’ll reach out to you to see what’s up. If you’re losing muse or don’t have time for as many characters, there’s nothing wrong with that, just let me know and I’ll put the character back up! As long as you communicate, it’ll be fine <3
WIDOWED MR. LEWIS 31 (*1863) | slythclaw | mcpb werewolf, hiding it open occupation flexible/open history (outside of Rho's history) |
An uncertain love interest:
Mr. Lewis is not prepared for how much his SIL reminds him of his late wife… From her face, to the way she walks and talks, and even to how her hair curls, it’s all so very much like Flossie; it’s jarring, no doubt. It stirs memories and feelings he’s been ignoring while trying to run his house, raise his sons, and – nowadays – keep his secret well-hidden. It’s rather unacceptable, how he’s feeling: he loved his Flossie – enough to marry a step down, society be damned. And now, her little sister – one that willing abandoned kith and kin for some shady brute whom people only know existed because he was unchecked werewolf Rhoda is, frankly, going through the motions of existence; they lost the love of their life, the one person who accepted them unconditionally and even encouraged their oddities if only so they’d be happy… And it was their fault. Then, a chance at redemption: Rhoda is back in Wizarding England, in Hogsmeade, and they’ve signed themself up to help Mr. Lewis with his “illness” There’s already enough tension between the two, as Rhoda chafes against being back in “proper” society and Mr. Lewis tries to keep everything as ordinary as possible to outside observer, so the situation at hand will surely not help. The question is: will the pair fight this? Embrace it? Both, perhaps, with one choosing to embrace their budding feelings while the other rejects the whole idea? Maybe, at some point, the roles might even switch? There are certainly plenty of possibilities… But no matter the decision, the facts remain: their BIL’s “curse” could ruin everything for everyone in the family and Rhoda is a possible weak-link, a historically loose cannon, altogether unknown to him… This could end quite tragically. And here’s some other notes I have on this idea! (Also unashamedly plugging the Lewis boys ad again - please read the 'food for the thought' blurb of it if nothing else <3) For starters, I'm open to this becoming an end-game kind of deal… or completely crashing and burning; as this is only a starting point, nothing is set in stone (and I’m flexible enough for plans to change from one option to another, if we change our minds as we go!). I see this attraction first dawning on Mr. Lewis, sparked mostly by the superficial ways the Rho reminds him of his lost wife – he will realize that Rhoda isn’t Flossie quickly enough, but the implications of that are open to interruption (and I’d love to brainstorm with you if you want); I also see there being a bit of an inverted Florence Nightingale effect on Mr. Lewis, at least at first, where the continued care given to him |
