There isn’t much that stands out about Tillie and she likes it that way. She has an open, honest face and wears her expressions quite loudly. Her hair is a very boring brown and her eyes the dullest blue beneath even brows. She is dressed up like the darling debutante she is supposed to be in fine fashions, though she prefers more muted colors like soft blues and greens. You won’t catch her dead in pink or yellow. Neither works well with her pale complexion thank you very much. She is right handed and carries herself with a bit of a slouch, trying to keep her unusually tall 5’5” frame from being noticeable.History:
Personality:
April 22, 1874
The LastA fourth and final child, a second girl, joins the Anthony Alderton family. She is dubbed Mathilda, but is quickly nicknamed Tillie by those around her. It fits as well, she is loud and boisterous and Mathilda is far too formal. She is joined less than a month later by one of her most favorite cousins, Poppy. 1879
LessonsA curious child by nature, Till takes to reading quite quickly, absorbing the world around her through every book she can get her little hands on. She also quickly develops a fondness for fairy tales, though is less open about that. 1782
Magical MishapsThough she hadn’t been overly worried, her first sign of magic had taken its sweet time! Tillie accidentally turns her governess green when the woman tries to take a few books from Tillie’s to-be-read pile, thinking the subject matter of “no use to polite young ladies.” Obviously Tillie wholeheartedly disagrees. School Year 1885-1886
First YearTillie finally joins her siblings (or at least Archie and Lucy) and is swiftly sorted into Ravenclaw, along with Poppy, to no one’s surprise. The academic part of school is an easy adaptation; the socializing is not. School Year 1886-1887
Second YearHaving done exceptionally well during her first year, Tillie is ready to dive back in and naturally excels in classes with more theory. Practical classes like Potions and Herbology are not exactly her forte, but she makes due. A foil to Poppy in just about every way, she struggles to make friends, while her cousin is charismatic and genial, Tillie is a begrudging tagalong for the most part. School Year 1887-1888
Third YearThe year she has been waiting for; electives! Tillie adds Ancient Runes, Muggle Studies (shh) and Arithmancy. Full schedule? Not a problem for someone with little to no social life! School Year 1888-1889
Fourth YearMost people would crumble under the weight of the amount of classes to take, but not Tillie. She is thriving with each subject, though is looking forward to dropping a couple after OWLs to focus on the ones she truly enjoys. School Year 1889-1890
Fifth YearWith a Study Buddy that she has become somewhat close to, Tillie busts her butt to study for OWLs. She plans to drop a few classes for NEWTs so that she can enjoy her academic pursuits and hone in on the subjects she wants to, her family however, has a wildly different plan for her. 1890
The RoseDespite stellar OWL results and a lot of undignified whining, Tillie is unceremoniously yanked from Hogwarts and shipped off to finishing school. The Pendergast School for Young Roses is everything Tillie is not and everything she loathes about life. She would much rather be learning things that are worthwhile to her life, rather than needlework and simpering through dinner parties. The only thing she does enjoy is dancing, but is probably a little more exuberant than she should be.
She writes to Poppy often, complaining of everything she is being forced to do and still immensely jealous that her cousin is able to finish up her education.Spring 1892
ReleaseRelief is in sight, no matter how short-lived it will be. At the end of this term, having been sufficiently “finished,” Tillie is set to debut with Poppy this season. Let the torture begin. At least she will have both Basil and Poppy to help her survive.
Merlin help her.
