| Octavia Brynn Malfoy is the last child born to Gwenaelle and Barnabas Malfoy; a small child, but hearty nonetheless, and the family is joyous. For whatever reason, they take to calling the child her middle name. The next year, Giaus is betrothed to a Miss Celeste Avery, which baby Brynn has little attention span to care for. |
| Brynn exhibits her first sign of magic, turning her clothing colors from blue to black when the nanny displeases her. Only satisfaction from getting what she wants prevents her from actually causing further harm to the nanny. Gaius finishes at Hogwarts and heads straight into the Auror program at the Ministry. |
| Cassandra starts at Hogwarts, which sorely vexes Brynn, as she wishes to accompany her sister to the school and join the family. Gaius fails to pass his 2nd year of Auror Training, which upsets 7-year-old Brynn to no end. From then on, she holds any auror she meets in slight contempt, insisting Gaius is twice the man that they are. |
- 1879 year one | Brynn is off to Hogwarts and is immediately placed into Slytherin. She is mildly peeved she is not placed in the same house as her brother had been, but ultimately decides Slytherin is much better suited to her. Surprisingly, having always been a rather social creature, Brynn feels rather shy once in the Slytherin dorm room, and doesn't quite succeed in making extremely close friends yet. She decides to hide this weakness by being a bit of a bully to a select few students. |
- 1880 year two | Gaius marries Miss Celeste Avery with Cassandra marrying the very next year. Brynn only sees this as rather auspicious that her time to be married is only right around the corner - after she finishes finishing school, of course. |
- 1881 year three | Brynn receives word that Celeste has passed away leaving Gaius with a baby girl. She is sad, seeing as she had no problem with her sister-in-law. |
- 1882 year four | Her fourth year passes with little consequence, though Brynn's found her confidence, and so deigns to simply make other students believe she is friends with everyone rather than have everyone think she is prejudiced in any fashion (although anyone who has a brain to them can deduce she rather avoids muggleborns). As for those she'd bullied, well she pretends that it simply didn't happen. |
- 1883 year five | Brynn receives news that she is an aunt once more via Cassandra, who has given birth to a baby girl, to be named Jocasta. This strengthens her spirits as she feels rather put out since she was not named Prefect. |
- 1884 year six | Cassandra is lost to the Laughing Plague that strikes Hogsmeade. Brynn worries for her brother, but is ultimately relieved when he is unharmed. Still, Brynn spends half the year in mourning attire. |
- 1885 year seven | The final year commences, and Brynn is eager to be out of school and on the social scene. Just weeks after making the acquaintance of a charming Miss November Crouch, Brynn receives news that her brother is to marry again and Miss Crouch is to be her new sister-in-law. She's quite thrilled for both, and is pleased to find herself in their wedding party. |
| November gives birth to Callistus. |
| November gives birth to another son, Flavius. Around this time, Brynn gets it into her head that it is entirely possible that - when she marries and falls pregnant - she could give birth to a squib and she is seized by terror that will only quell once she has the child. A horrible dampener on her third - third! - season. In addition to this fear, she's caught in the World Market debacle and is injured by a flying tiger. She bears three slim scars on her right shoulder blade because of this which become one of her greatest insecurities. |
| Early in the year, Brynn is courted by a young man who, would eventually come to propose within the coming months. She is ecstatic and launches herself into planning the perfect wedding. No expense would be spared, of course, and Brynn finds herself rather suited to planning, which in turn makes her believe she would really make the perfect wife to her eventual husband. |
| One month before her wedding, her fiancé tragically dies, plunging Brynn into socially-mandated mourning. While devastated by the loss of someone whom she'd grown to be quite fond of, Brynn wonders if half of the reason why she's glum is because she must don black for a year and all her plans have been for naught. |
| Her mourning is officially over, and Brynn is quite anxious to be launched back into society again; she swears if anyone else around her drops dead and interferes with her marital prospects, she will most certainly have a cousin-Estelle-level-meltdown. While no one dies, something equally horrid happens and her sister-in-law's brother gets himself eloped which infuriates Brynn. However, Gaius is recommended to the Wizengamot, which Brynn decides to take as a sign of good fortune. She still hasn't forgiven that side of the family for the scandal they brought with them into the family, but she does not voice this out loud, and is the picture of politeness if she ever encounters them in public. |
