Appearance: Inches shorter than most of her family members Judy is only 5'1”. Her skin either burns, or freckles without protection as she has very pale skin, blue eyes and rather wild brown hair that curls and forms waves haphazardly and often looks quite unkempt or wild. She usually wears it as simply as she can, having not the patience for hair styles that take more time. She doesn’t care about fashion or appearance whatsoever - and probably needs a minder as she is prone to an absent professor mentality forgetting to both eat or change her clothes. She wears robes simply because she believes them timeless and it means she doesn’t have to buy new ones - as magic can both clean and repair her current ones.  Her lack of care however towards her own clothes and fashion can result in what she wears being seen as outdated, eclectic or eccentric. She's technically ambidextrous but wields a wand and pen in her left (to be contrary) and prefers her right for weight bearing.

History:
Pre-Hogwarts: Judy was born in 1866 to parents, who despite having two children already, had no actual interest in playing family and left the raising of her and her siblings to other people despite the disapproval it incurred - instead choosing to live their lives as if they were unburdened by the complications children brought.

As she grew she found greater benefit in naughty, or mischievous actions - for while good behaviour often went unnoticed especially by her parents bad behaviour gained her their full attention, at least for a while and so she would often get in as much trouble as she could. Her parents however soon stopped caring about what she did, leaving any reprimand in the hands of their housekeeper and in an attempt to fill the hole left by their absence, she chose instead to seek out ways to fill what was missing in her life from other sources, falling into a pattern of mischief, thrill seeking and adventure though and delighted in practical jokes designed to make others laugh.

Hogwarts: She recieved her letter when she was eleven, though it came with no surprise to anybody who knew her - She'd been using magic reliably to stir up mischief for a good year and a half beforehand and she was quickly received into Ravenclaw. She loved school life immensely - the pleasure of being surrounded by so many people and playing the class clown and the amount of friends she could make that could allow her to completely forget about her home life and the resentment she felt towards her parents.

She liked to think she grew to be a cheerful, friendly and well-rounded person who was always thinking of new enjoyable things to do and rarely said no, which landed her with quite a few detentions, though she always made it up in classes so that she didn't put her housemates behind that much…. However despite her shenanigans - her parents never seemed to scold her for her behaviour, or followed when she was ill - and only seemed to occasionally remember Christmases and Birthdays - indeed it appeared that once she was at Hogwarts they considered her to be the schools problem now.

Summers were usually spent in an empty house with her siblings and housekeeper, or haunting her cousins' far friendlier house. It was with little surprise that one summer in her fifth year (to her)  she returned to discover that their house practically abandoned after giving Noah, and Vesta  instructions to look after his sisters whilst they went abroad for an undisclosed amount of time for an undisclosed reason - though assured there was enough money in the bank for the girls to finish schooling if that was what they wished … and whilst it came as little surprise, or change to her own daily life (especially since her parents were usually away anyway partying or working) she didn’t quite realise how much their abandonment affected her until her brother eloped after the Amorentia incident in [February '83] and her sister leaves school in [March '83 ], both without consulting her - and she considers it a betrayal. She finds herself forced to grow up as she realises that with the looming terror of graduation the only options really available to her are to become a career woman - as marriage is far too daunting - especially to achieve with what she assumes is little assistance. Having entertained little hopeless, one-sided crushes throughout school she chooses to put them aside and attempts to steer herself in a more constructive direction… mostly… especially as they very rarely see her as a girl but “one of the boys”

After Hogwarts: She leaves Hogwarts, and joins the DEPARTMENT OF MAGICAL ACCIDENTS & CATASTROPHES after graduation on the advice of her HOH, and takes up residence in a woman’s only boarding house - and finds a career and free study far more stimulating than school ever was… though jumps at the opportunity to transfer to the Department of Mysteries in 1887.

Personality:Cheerful, friendly, eccentric. She has abandonment issues and attention seeking behaviour. She is one of the best and most brilliant of her class, but has trouble finishing the projects she starts, and differentiating between what is viable and what is best left as a "really great idea."

Other:
Punch - A Screech Owl, given to her as a present from her brother Noah. It flew off and took up roost in the Forbidden Forest half way through her sixth year, probably due to Judy's tendency to act roughly and smoother animals with too much love and attention. The last she saw it had a female and chicks and she made the mature decision to let him be.... rather every time she tried to take him back he'd bite her.

Judy sat in the common room, her feet up on one of the ottomons and relaxed like a Queen, though no Queen would've dared to sit as she did at just that moment... though dared was probably the wrong word. The right word was probably wanted, or some such thing because Judy Hatchitt could be no definition of the word Ladylike.

She was quite happy with the world right at that moment and nothing, no one and no thing was going to change her mood about that... and that's because today, well today she had chocolate.

She grinned and bit down on the ooh so chocolately goodness and shivvvered and sighed in delight.

The world was perfect.

It didn't matter that she had homework to do, or that she had not committed a proper prank in quite a while. It didn't matter that Noah was married(well it did but chocolate and a month to probably hurt his feelings while ignoring him made that go away) and would be moving to Irvingly she had chocolate.

She tried not to concerntrate on the other people in the common room until she accidentally made eye contact with a very familiar face and paused as she realised the problem that had just presented itself. She could pretend she hadn't noticed them and continue her blissful retreat into the awesomeness that was chocolate or she could do the polite thing.

She sighed, and only out of politeness did she hold out the chocolate and ask:

"Do you want some?"
