What: Wedding of Zelda Fisk and J. Alfred Darrow
Who: The vibe is "the bride and groom wanted a small wedding but that's not what's happening here."
Brannon Fisk is delighted (or something) to invite the following to his youngest daughter's wedding to Captain Darrow:

  • All Fisks, spouses, and children thereof
  • All Darrows, spouses, and children thereof
  • Friends of the bride and groom, obviously
  • The Urquarts, Fudges, Delaneys, & Medinas
  • Friends-of-friends and family friends of any of the above
  • MA&C (specific office, not the umbrella) employees; folks who work w/ Alfred
  • Neighbors of the Fisks in Ottery & Bartonburg; Neighbors of Evander in Irvingly; probably most permanent Sanditon residents

Where: The Sanditon Resort
Why: FINALLY
When: 8/22; ceremony in the afternoon, reception to follow in the early evening
A seaside wedding of Zelda Fisk and Captain Darrow; the ceremony is predominately "Victorian wizard classic" but with elements of "the bride is Jewish" (breaking of the glass, etc.) Vibe is: big family wedding, most of the decor is loosely themed around the ocean, lots of dancing under a pavilion to follow.

What: SECRET SHOTS (IC name: Summer's End Festival)
Who: Jewell sponsoring
Cost: Yes; tiered.
Pavilion tickets: UC/upper MC (includes free food)
Festival tickets, all-you-can-drink: MC (food available for purchase at additional cost)
Festival tickets, limited (2 drinks/ticket): WC (you can buy more than 2 drinks but you have to pay for each; food available for purchase)
Where: Padmore Park
Why: booze & drama
When: August 28th. Opens at noon, runs until the early hours of the next morning.

Vibe: think Oktoberfest. Booze, food, live music, scattered games. The pavilion has tables, seats, and a dance floor while the festival is open-air meandering. Jewell is sampling their newest experimental liquor, which is a shot that gives you knowledge you wouldn't otherwise have (ie, a secret). Is this knowledge useful to you? Who's to say! Might be about two people you've never met and never will!

The severity of the secret is directly proportional to how drunk you are. Your knowledge of it lasts as long as your intoxication does; when you sober up you'll still remember it (unless you were REALLY drunk) but it will seem far-fetched and a little silly. Unless you managed to uncover proof of its veracity in the meantime, of course...

What: Dancing at the Destiny
Who: Ophelia bullied one of her society friends into hosting it so she could stage shenanigans. Typical UC/MC Society invites.
Cost: No
Where: Destiny Hotel, London
Why: Aforementioned shenanigans
When: Aug 20th (werewolves beware)

For most attendees this is a Generic Ball hosted in the ballroom of the magical Destiny Hotel in London. Chandeliers and a string quartet, etc. etc. For around 6-10 lucky attendees, this evening will turn traumatic as they're locked in a room with a stranger, appear to be transported to a faraway place, and faced with a catastrophe to overcome. Will one of them kill the other? Will they overcome the challenge and emerge triumphant? Will they fall in love? Will someone get pregnant? Up to you!

What: Full Moon Ball
Who: Hosted by Nephele Lestrange, inviting well to do Pureblood families, and certain MC families, particularly those who will be sacred 28 families, and especially those with eligible children
Cost: N/A
Where: Lestrange residence in London,
Why: Officially: Balls are fun and 'intimate balls are better', but also a PB hurling event.
When: Thursday, August 19th - being held on the full moon for the Romantic aesthetic and also to shake any werewolves loose from family trees.

The ballroom has been decorated with night blooming jasmine, angels trumpet, moonflowers - moon and stars feature heavily in the decor and probably a tarot reader somewhere in the corner doing their thing.
