December 19th, 1868 | An early Christmas present is left on the doorstep of one Harlan Chevalier. The product of the unnatural, unwanted seduction by a veela in the French countryside while visiting family, Harlan is flabbergasted, but takes the babe in, obviously charmed by the beautiful infant.
1875 | Harlan’s father passes away and with no more ties left to France, Harlan packs up toddling Tabitha and moves her back to England near his mother’s natal family roots.
1877 | After securing a job at the ministry, Harlan is able to purchase a modest home in the expanding Hogsmeade, for himself and Tabs. It is later this year he meets and woos one Felicity Oakley.
1878 | In January after a proper engagement, Harlan and Felicity marry. Tabitha is thrilled. She likes Felicity very much and she has always been very kind to Tabs. Marietta is born right before Tabitha’s birthday and Tabs’ worst nightmare begins; her step-mother now treats her differently with her own babe in her arms.
1879 | Tabitha displays her first act of magic a little late; she accidentally apparates away from a neighborhood boy who was far too affectionate toward her. This is also the first time Tabitha is keenly aware that there is something different about her.
School Year 1880-81 | Though it saddens her greatly to be away from her father, Tabitha is equally excited to start her magical education. She is swiftly sorted into Hufflepuff, which she finds is a perfect fit though does note make too many friends. Lisette is born in the spring. Tabitha tries to dote on and play with her sisters, but Felicity is not open to it.
School Year 1881-82 | Her second year is about as uneventful as the first. She befriends an outgoing Gryffindor with whom she is partnered on a Potions project.
School Year 1882-83 | Tabi adds Divination and Ancient runes to her roster.
School Year 1883-84 | This year is the year she notices more unwanted male attention. It had hovered for a while in her peripheral vision, but reaches its peak when a fifth year boy gets a little too forward and earns himself a resounding smack. At Christmas she breaks down and tells her father, who finally tells her of her lineage. Shocked and outraged, Tabitha spends the rest of the year trying to blend into the wallpaper.
School Year 1884-85 | OWLs arrive and thanks to the fact that she refuses to have a social life Tabitha does well, as expected and she only keeps what is necessary to pursue a profession in healing, plus Astronomy, because she loves it.
School Year 1885-86 | Sixth year sees Tabs having her first real crush on a seventh year. He’s kind to her, but there is always the uneasy feeling that it’s not really her that he’s attracted to and not just the veela blood. Nothing comes of it of course, but she’d be lying if she wasn’t hopeful.
School Year 1886-87 | Seventh year comes with a lot of hard work and struggles, but she finishes with enough NEWTs to continue on with healing.
1887 | Tabi pursues her dream and begins her internship at Hogsmeade Hospital in the Potion and Plant Poisoning ward. In September the halfbreed ban is enforced at Hogwarts and Tabitha is relieved she did not have to deal with it and feels for her fellow students who just want to pursue an education like any magical child.
1888 | The following summer she is promoted to a proper healer and about the same time is entranced by a patient that comes in. The two exchanged pleasantries and later letters. Tabi spends a season at social events, on top of the hospital where she runs into her suitor again and again. By Christmas he’s asked to court her and by St. Valentines asks for her hand. Tabs has dragged her feet on telling him about her half-veela blood, but finally breaks down and tells him. It goes poorly and he calls off the engagement just a few short months after it began. Devastated Tabs throws herself into her work and swears that will be the only time she is fooled.
1890 | Tabs continues to pour her heart and soul into healing without much time for anything else and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
