Jacqueline Urquart née Wilde, Mother [1852-1884]—Elijah’s mother was the first (and, he insists, only) woman he ever loved and he misses her more than he cares to admit. Perished in the plague.

Gabriel Urquart, Brother [1877]—As the last standing member of his immediate family, Elijah is terribly protective of and kind towards Gabriel.

Gaylord Urquart, Grandfather [1802-1879]—Was murdered, and his death remains an unsolved mystery. Sometimes Elijah finds the matter dreadfully interesting, but most of the time he forgets about it.

Iphigenia Urquart née Goyle [1821]—Elijah is glad Grandmother has Uncle Caspar and his love life to distract her now.

Caspar Urquart, Uncle & Guardian [1843]—Elijah’s uncle is not nearly so accommodating as his parents were; while part of the boy respects him for this, most of him finds it obnoxious.

Davis, Hedgehog [“1878”]—Was originally Davis the footman. No one questioned why Elijah insisted on naming his new pet after the missing boy.

Appearance: Elijah stands at an average height for a lad his age, five feet and two and three quarter inches. The three-quarter, he insists, is imperative. Light brown hair tops his head in a mop of loose curls. Most notable are his eyes—Elijah suffers from heterochromia, leaving him with one blue iris and one green. He wears typical clothing for his station and is right-handed.
History: 1874 | Elijah is the first child born to Melchior and Jacqueline Urquart. His maleness elates both parents, paving the way for a rather spoiled upbringing.

1877 | Gabriel is born.

1878 | Elijah’s first act of magic sees him turn a footman into a hedgehog. No one witnesses this, and few questions are asked when he spontaneously seems to have a pet hedgehog.

1879 | His grandfather dies and his father inherits. Changing his mourning suit to something more brightly colored is his first ~official act of magic, and he is rewarded with a quidditch figurine and a bag of sweets.

1884 | The entire household contracts the plague. Elijah and Gabriel recover, and so does Grandmother in spite of the fact that she’s old. Mother and Papa do not. The trio move in with Elijah’s uncle Caspar; he is unenthused. His other uncle is made Minister of Magic, but he’s never met the man #so.

1885 | Elijah meet’s his uncle’s friend Mrs. Yaxley, and also her son Simon who he promptly decides will become his lackey someday.

1886 | REJOICE! Elijah receives his invitation to Hogwarts (naturally) and eagerly obtains his school supplies. He is one of the few first years to make the quidditch team that year, for his Slytherin house, which does wonders to inflate his ego. He also begins a cautious friendship with his cousin Sebastian, thinking the boy might be of use someday.

1887 | Uncle Caspar marries the former Mrs. Yaxley and impregnates her, probably in that order. Elijah does not see the point of the whole ordeal. Bash’s sister becomes a werewolf, and while Elijah has the sense not to say anything too disparaging in his cousin’s presence, it makes things uneasy between them.
