Appearance:
A tad on the shorter side, Freya stands at five feet three inches. Her curves, while subtle, are easily noticed with the assistance of a tightly bound corset. She prefers purples or green fabrics, though will settle for any color so long as the tailoring is impeccable. Freya has dark brown eyes and a long, pointy nose. She is left handed.
History:
An Innocent Child
1865: Freya, a tiny and fragile baby, is born right as dawn breaks on the horizon. She is mellow right from birth and is the darling of Mama's eyes.
1867: Papa dies during the height of the summer. Freya doesn't understand much of what happened, just that one of her favorite people no longer came to the nursery to play with her.
1869: Mama engages her first tutor, a lively middle aged woman who loved to teach Freya in mildly unconventional places. The garden is soon one of her favorite places to be.
1872: Her lessons continue to include womanly arts as well as academics. Needlepoint takes her years to master (and far too many instances of pricking herself) but she takes a quick liking to musical instruments,
particularly the violin. This combined with her natural affinity for gardening are her primary hobbies to pass the time with.
1873: Freya's first act of magic stems from a deep sadness. When visiting Papa's grave she notices the lilies she planted a few weeks prior had wilted from an unexpected frost. As she cries (both from missing the father she never had an opportunity to know and the dead flowers) they revitalize and bloom right before her eyes. Mama is so pleased.
A Dedicated Student
1877 - 1878: Leaving home and attending school is terrifying for her. Freya cries as she boards the train and separates from Mama for the first time. She meets X as they board the boats and the two girls become fast friends. Luckily, they're even sorted into Hufflepuff (after a long hour of deliberation between Hufflepuff and Slytherin) together.
1878 - 1879: While she misses Mama terribly at school, departing from her for the second time is a tad easier now that she knows what to expect. She still writes letters to Mama weekly though.
1879 - 1880: Freya elects to take Arthimancy, Divination, and Earth Magic. The weight of her course load is intense and she struggles to maintain perfect grades across the board. She ultimately devotes less time to divination (a mistake of a choice) in order to focus on her other subjects.
1881 - 1882: The summer before school is set to begin again Freya recieves a letter telling her she's been chosen as a prefect. It's an unexpected honor, as she long since made peace with X being given the position. Nevertheless, Freya adds in her new duties to her already stressful schedule seamlessly. If she notices X growing distant over the course of the year, she gives no outward indications. The year concludes with (at the minimum) all passing grades on her OWLs.
1882 - 1883: Instead of choosing the bed besides her as they have for years, X decides to sleep across the room from Freya. Their other dormmates notice the tension, but none are bold enough to comment on it. And, unsurprisingly, Freya is too busy balancing her NEWT level courseload and continued prefect duties to force the issue.
1883 - 1884: In yet another surprising turn of events, Freya is made head girl. She's taken aback by the honor and strives to do her best at the position. This position, seen as yet another slight by X, leads to the frosty silence growing into a tension one of them is merely waiting for the other to break. Freya does her best to ignore it, and, thankfully, the hours she needs to patrol gives her an excuse to avoid it. Her NEWT grades are excellent, much to Mama's pleasure, and she graduates as one of top students in her class.
An Infatuated Debutante
1884: It's as she descends the stairs as the lead of the Hogwart's Coming Out Ball that Freya notices Daniel Sewlyn for the first time. The attraction between them is instant. There's something about him that she can't turn away from. However, the night affords them no opportunity to interact. In fact, nearly a month goes by before they're in attendance of the same event again. The attraction is still the same, and when they're finally introduced Freya is undeniably intrigued. By the end of the Season he's asked to court her.
1885: Mama hates Daniel, much to Freya's chagrin. The weight of Mama's disappointment weighs heavily on her, but what can she do? After less than a year of courting him, Freya knows she's in love with him. He's moody and at times confusing, but she loves him. So when he proposes her answer is immediately obvious. Mama is upset, of course, but he is her future. Freya pushes forward with the steadfast belief that Mama will one day forgive her.
1886: They're married on a beautiful spring day and immediately take off on a tour of the continent. It's whilst traveling that Freya finally discovers the dark side of aDaniel is truly like. His moods range from slightly warm to impossibly cold. His own insecurities force him to lash out at her. Freya tries to navigate them as best she can while maintaining an air of optimism. Just as Mama will forgive her, he'll realize the depths of her love for him...except, he doesn't. Instead, he forces her into taking an unbreakable vow. She hadn't considered leaving him before (marriage was a sort of finality in most English marriages after all), but she now does with increasing regularity. To top this off, Daniel and Mama have an awful argument upon their return to London. Mama is banned from entering the Sewlyn home.
A Loyal Wife
1887: Freya longs for Mama's guidance but also doesn't want to push on the boundaries of her new marriage. She still loves Daniel with the passion of a lovestruck teenager. They're happy, sometimes. And sometimes they're decidedly not happy. Freya swiftly learns how to balance their delicate relationship (most of his harsh words, she learns, are due to her actions). However, the balance is thrown off kilter when Mama becomes ill. One frantic letter from Mama and Freya orders the elves to pack her belongings. Mama takes months to recover, but the vow gives her six months of flexibility.
1888 - 1890: Mama's frequent illnesses are the strongest point of contention between Daniel and she. As an only child, caring for her ailing mother is a burden she carries alone. Of course, Daniel doesn't understand it, how could he? He, who has no worthwhile connections to his family outside of ridiculous rivalries, could never understand the love Freya has for Mama. This strife they share doesn't alter her love for him, though. She's constantly torn between the two, and it's excessively tiresome.
