What: "Sweethearts & Sunsets" Valentine's Day Ball
Who: NPC UC lady hosting. UC and noteworthy/respectable/fun MC folks.

NPC UC lady is secretly working with Yente Ventus to throw this party... so really the guest list is "whoever WW cares about"
Where: Wellingtonshire Residence
Why: V-day shenanigans
When: 14 February

Ostensibly it's Just Another Party with some sunset color scheme and romantic-ish themed food and drinks. Dancing, etc etc.

There are several magical things in affect here:

• If two guests make eye contact while speaking, they cannot be overheard — the conversation just sounds like background noise to others.
  
• There are plenty of small rooms around the venue that are 'fairly private' and it's easy to slip in or out of them unnoticed.
  
• Servants will be dropping hints to the guests about the two items above.
  
• Food and drinks are laced with some mild aphrodisiacs (not amortentia style just a little friskier than normal) to encourage guests to use those rooms.
  
• There will be a REVEAL at midnight where people who DID use those rooms to make out (or do more) are going to have magical lipstick marks anywhere they were kissed/etc. (Note: nothing about the spell will indicate who they were with, but still plenty of room for scandal and speculation)
  
• None of the guests will remember the reveal after leaving because we're not actually trying to destroy society.
  
• The hostess DOES remember so there might be some speculation in WW in the future (but they may or may not guess the partner correctly)
  

Basically: an excuse to move your ships along, an excuse to have some quick scandal!drama, minimal consequences to follow. Happy Valentine's Day!

What: Shrove Tuesday Charity Day.
Who: Hosted by the CMJ for the wider community of Irvingly though they be heathens.
Where: Church of St. Fergus in Irvingly and spilling out into the streets.
Why: Jesus.
When: Tuesday 25th February.

The pre-Lent fattening commences. At 11 o'clock the church bells will ring to alert the locals that the festivities are starting, however in an attempt to ensure every soul is saved one of the ladies of the CMJ may have enchanted them to ring in people's ears for the rest of the afternoon if they don't attend.

For five knuts you may come inside the church itself where there will be pancakes, as is tradition, served by the good ladies of the CMJ alongside the muggle ladies who frequently find themselves unable to argue with the notion that Jesus might in fact have been magical. The pancakes themselves will be served with lemon from one of the local farms and sugar even though more or less the only thing the women are in agreement over is that sugar was created by the devil to make children's teeth fall out.

If one wishes to brave the cold outside there will be both mob football for any energetic young man who wishes to kick a pig's bladder at his friends and organised pancake races for all ages.
