Appearance:

Idris is a 4'7 young man who hasn't yet mastered the art of dressing up well, though he tries to the best he can knowing he'll soon be alone at Hogwarts. He's right-handed.

History:

1878 | Idris Ross is born as the first child to Justin and Roslyn. He learns how to talk after eight months, whispering ‘dada’ seconds before falling asleep in Roslyn’s arms. It takes him another three months to say ‘mama’, at which point he has taken his first step - however, he soon resorts to crawling around instead.


1880 | Nothing unusual happens up to this point, except for that one time his parents had to rush him to heal him because he swallowed a small piece from a toy. Idris is constantly touching and playing with their house’s objects, sometimes leading them to fall and break, so it’s a good thing they’ve got magic to fix them.


1884 | Idris doesn’t fully understand what death is, though he’s told grandma has passed and he won’t ever see her again. It hurts a lot, but there’s nothing he can do about it. He decides to focus on learning what his parents are making him, and once even fix a muggle lamp - he’s not sure how it happened but he followed a book’s guide and it was fun.


1886 | He makes a microscope out of photography lens. It’s a bit of a mess but it works and he’s so proud, until the day it falls and breaks. He doesn’t mind it much because he can do it again, which he does. If anything, he’s more curious about his sister, whom he loves a lot even though she cries loudly sometimes - he starts working into making child’s toy because it’s fun for them both. He’s only successful a few times, but it’s enough.


1887 | Father is Ministry of Magic? He is old enough to understand that’s a really important thing but not too old to brag about it, which he finds, years later, it’s not something he wants to. Instead, Idris blushes most of the time people mention his dad, and he tries not to make a big deal - it’s his father and his hero and one of his best friends, not some alien from out of Earth.


1888 | Dad spends less and less time at home since he’s won the election and sometimes this makes Idris sad, sometimes angry, but he never shows because he couldn’t have his father sad because of him, or mom who tries to be there for him and his sister both. Instead he spends more time with his friends and even visits the Ministry. He’s found it could be fun working there later on, but he’d much rather stick to inventing and creativity.


1889 | It’s finally time to go to Hogwarts. There are so many doubts on his head but most importantly, he’s excited and things could only be better if father spent more time at home, but he does what he can. Then again, it’s a boarding school he’s going to.

Idris Ross has a tendency to live inside his head; or so it happens when he’s filled with muse and creativity towards creating. His favorite pastime is inventing, of which he has found many ways to pursue even without magic. He is a generous young man whose optimistic view to life means he’s often cheerful, as he has not known much of violence and tragedy. In fact, he is curious enough he has read a few books at home, a bit more than expected of an eleven-year-old though he wouldn’t call himself a bookworm, as practical knowledge is more fun.


Idris can be rather naive. He’s perceptive when it comes to his creations, yes, but not as much with people - so he might not comprehend it when people are sad, and not notice their deeper emotions. He’s also impulsive and jumps to action possibly before he should have, with bits of recklessness. Furthemore, though he has grown up amidst many people, he tends to be shy with those he hadn’t yet known; he’s sometimes scared people won’t befriend him, so he keeps to himself before feeling comfortable among a group.
