Hoist the Anchor, Set Sail [Lynn Ship Launchpad] - Fortitude Greengrass - February 1, 2025
welcome!
So nice I made networking twice. If you don't know me my name is Lynn, I use she/her pronouns, I have a casual/general networking page here, and this new one is where I collect my characters romantic deets. I really love messy relationships of all varieties so even my "taken" characters are usually up for added ~drama~.
Characters below are divided by gender presentation and each one has been given a score on Visible Hurlability (VH) and Real Hurability (RH). For example, a character who is unhappily married might have VH: 0/10 but RH: 10/10. A bachelor with a male lover might have VH: 9/10 but RH: 2/10. Click the spoiler under each character for details.
Best Contact: Discord, replies here or tags anywhere, PMs. When starting threads please tag: Account in question; alternatively, just use the discord channel. I highkey love getting tags in the discord channel because I work from home so I can usually go read things right away even if I can't reply <3
I'm the main character, and you have to like mePublicly Oz is known to hate his wife and openly flirt with other women. He was an established rake before he married and is probably assumed to have affairs. He also does have affairs, though none since he took office, and historically these have mostly been short flings rather than anything with feelings. His relationship with ballerina Sophia Voss was the exception. He may be open to affairs if someone returns his casual flirting but may also be more cautious this time around given the complications with Sophia.
wanna run my fingers through your hair and hear you say you've never done this beforeWhat you know about Emrys depends on which circles you're in. Polite society knows he's married, probably suspects it's unhappily, but might not have any reason to believe he's looking to start an affair (though his brother infamously has bastards, so maybe). If you're in the immoral scene you probably never realized he stopped having affairs. In reality Emrys did more or less withdraw from other relationships (except Art) after he married Angelica Selwyn, but now they're more formally separated and he's very keen to find distractions of the sexual variety. He likes spoiling lovers with pretty things and expensive gifts. He is nonmonogamous but doesn't tend to mix partners.
we've been living on a fault line, and for a while you were all mineEzra was very not over his ex, Rosalie Hunniford, and last summer he started messing with his head so the memories of her didn't hurt so much. Is he still capable of falling in love? I'm dying to find out. On paper he's quite marriageable and recently acquired a ward who needs a mother figure. I'm not 100% sure he's straight but if he isn't I don't know how to get him to explore that. Whether he develops feelings for someone or not, I think odds of him eventually romantically-or-platonically proposing to someone he thinks would be a decent mother figure for his ward are pretty high, so I'm also keen for exposure to anyone who might fit there.
Feels like I'm gonna D-I-E whenever you get close to meCalvin has been "in love" with Saffron Whitby for years - she does not know this yet - so he's pretty emotionally taken. On paper he's a perfectly marriageable, unattached young man. I'd be up for doomed marriage hurling threads. I could also maybe see him getting into a unhealthily sexual relationship with someone where he treated this like an unfortunate means to an end, didn't respect them much, and was in denial/ashamed of it any time he wasn't physically in the middle of it. Possibly with a man? This is all very tentative noodling so would need to thread things and see what happened, no promises on anything.
It's 3:30 in the morning, your day's been so boring, spice shit up - let me insidePublicly the only reason not to pursue Don Juan as a husband is that he's a bit of a mess. Ladies, do you want to reform him? I'm up for threads to that effect - though at this juncture I imagine if he were to marry someone it's more likely to be the VE equivalent of a platonic green card marriage than someone he was romantically interested in.
Romantically, he's involved with Dean Hudson but polyamorous and has room for other partners. These are likely to start casually and then feelings develop as time goes on.
we both know what we've gotta do, head back to where the magic grewBen's relationship with his wife has been generally fraught at various points. They are ostensibly doing well now but he mostly lives at Hogwarts while she's in Hogsmeade so they spend more time apart than together. Ben could find himself involved in an emotional affair more or less accidentally, and then would feel really guilty about it when he realized. He feels very strongly about fidelity so is unlikely to have a physical affair.
I shouldn't've called, 'cause we shouldn't speakAlfred is entirely smitten with his wife Zelda BUT he also has some very big insecurities surrounding parenting and a history of not setting good boundaries on emotional relationships. He could be enticed to an emotional affair with someone who helped him feel more confident! And Beanie and I have a stated goal of fucking with Zelfred this year so, y'know, drama if it happens! But he is very very in love with his wife so this would be a bit of a long shot - I'm still interested in options but no guarantees it would happen.
do you remember happy together?Ned is ostensibly happily married but in reality his relationship with his wife is strained. He is an idealist and a romantic and well-primed for an emotional affair, but he does also apparently openly discuss smut books with customers so probably isn't opposed to a physical affair (if feelings came first!) His wife is going to be played so I'm interested in dramaaaaaa <3
She said 'I can't find a thing I don't like about you,' and I'm like 'don't worry, you will.'Ford is only here for the sake of completion, he does not want romance threads of any variety.
don't you know that you're toxicDru was abused growing up (mostly emotionally but occasionally physically) and has never developed healthy relationship habits as a result. She wants intensity, anything less will bore her. She is married but her husband bores her. She's semi-actively seeking an affair and I am seeking all kinds of tension. Dru is good for: enemies-to-lovers tropes, toxic dynamics, will-they-won't-they. If you like the vibe of Tiberius & Antigone Lestrange's relationship Dru could very easily become that with someone.
you stupid bitch, can't you see the perfect one for you is meJules is ostensibly happily married but she's asexual, her husband is homosexual, and while she is good friends with her husband she isn't romantically interested in him (nor him in her). Historically Jules has been drawn to people who are very different from her - where she is cautious and analytical, her crushes are on people who are ostentatious and warm. People with obvious biases or bigotry would be non-starters.

I would love up to three threads set at this V-day event. These can be hurling, anti-hurling (hate-hurling? worst possible match?), or something in between!
Anyone above is open but my top choices would be Dru, Ezra, Emrys, Oz, or Ned. Whatcha got?
RE: Hoist the Anchor, Set Sail [Lynn Ship Launchpad] - Angelica Selwyn - February 5, 2025
Extra incentive for team drama: Emrys' wife will 100% be there.
Let the games begin!

BE MY MISTAKE <3
I've got a plot itch for someone to engage in a magically-induced (or at least magically-helped-along), problematic hook-up. This could work for a bunch of different characters. Ideally would like a few threads (hook-up + 2+ follow up threads with ~fallout, whether that's emotional only or more visible consequences).
"Problematic" is a broad term but the easiest ones that spring to mind:
- my character/your character/both characters are involved in committed relationships with other people
- my character/your character/both characters are not at all interested in/attracted to each other under normal circumstances
- our characters have a non-romantic fraught history together
- our characters have mutual connections who would find this extremely weird if it came out
Anyway come find me with ideas and then I will brainstorm the magical impetus we need to get going >D
From my roster, the characters I consider "in committed relationships" are:
Ford Greengrass
Ozymandias Dempsey
Calvin Paxton
Don Juan Demspey
Ben Crouch
J. Alfred Darrow
Ned Flourish
also notably Dru Pettigrew doesn't consider herself committed to her marriage but any hookup with her will become problematic
