- Other: Thomas has never cared much about fashion, other than he thinks traditional wizard fashion is a bit silly and he much prefers muggle styles. He dresses well, though, as he can afford to and he doesn't want to embarrass himself because he looks disheveled or not as put together as he should. He has a few more expensive pieces for certain occasions, but otherwise, it's pretty clear he's middle class. He has recently been trying different ways to do his hair or carry himself because he knows he's considered so young as Hogwarts staff and he wants to appear a little more adult than he feels. Thomas also tends to smell mostly like broom polish and peppermint.
History:
- 1865 - Thomas is born in London, England to two loving parents, he's got an older brother who is 5 years old.
- 1870 - Thomas displays his first sign of magic; he fell out of a treehouse his 10-year-old brother built, and he bounced.
- 1874 - Thomas's younger sister is born and both brothers are incredibly protective of her.
- 1876 - Thomas starts at Hogwarts for the first time, and is introduced to the world of magic! He's sorted into Gryffindor.
- 1878 - Thomas starts his third year at Hogwarts, but more importantly gets on the Gryffindor Quidditch team as a Keeper.
- 1881 - Thomas finishes his fifth year, with his OWLs and is signed on as a Reserve Keeper for the Appleby Arrows
- 1883 - Thomas makes it onto the First String of the Appleby Arrows as a Keeper, it seems his career is only going up.
- 1885 - The family moves to a house in Irvingly that Thomas sets up for them so they can be closer to where he now lives. Thomas and his elder brother argue a lot because his brother believes his profession is stupid, as he elected to be a Scholar because it uses brains.
- 1890 - Thomas takes a horrific bludger in the middle of a game, falling off a broom and is knocked unconscious. This results in him being in a coma for an extended amount of time, and while healers are able to make sure he doesn't die, it does leave him with some life-long injuries that essentially end his Quidditch career. Thomas sinks into a depression for quite some time while he heals.
- 1891 - Thomas is healed up pretty well and is hired by Hogwarts to be their Referee & Flight Instructor because he's got the experience and it seems to be the only thing that's managed to cheer Thomas up about not being a Professional Quidditch Player anymore.
- 1892 - Thomas's sister is a vivacious girl, hoping to marry up (and magical), and is giving her brothers massive anxiety.
Personality: Confident • Brave • Loyal • Impatient • Stubborn
Other: Though he does expect to marry a woman one day, and he's got no problem with it because he knows it's what he's supposed to do and he does want to be a father at some point as well, he is actually homosexual and nobody knows this except for his younger sister who caught him perhaps a little too close to a former Quidditch teammate. So far, his sister has kept her mouth shut about it, even to their older brother.
Sample Roleplay Post:
There were many things that the faerie princess could do if she chose to, as humans were oh so delicate, especially when they were in The Land Under the Hill where her magic was at its most powerful. But, as of right now, Astraea was more so curious about the human boy and wanted to talk to him, and therefore less inclined to harm him physically or mentally with her tricks.
“Are you certain? You did hit my tree with great force,” she asked, kneeling down in the grass to get a look in his eyes - an unnatural lavender (
did he have faerie blood or did humans look different than they did in the books she’d read?). She wanted to see if he really was okay, as she would be happy to heal his wounds. There was no honor in harming a mortal who was already hurt, and while she wouldn’t hurt him, she knew her father might.
Astraea probably should have continued to keep her distance, for safety reasons, but she didn’t, and instead moved closer to him, kneeling so she was close enough to peek at the books, parchment, and ink pens in his bag, confirming that he had nothing to harm her with.
“I see,” a scholar? She didn’t know of any human who had tried to study them - most who came in either wished to hunt her people or they came because they thought they could steal something magical and take it back with them.
“I have never personally met anyone from Hurst, but I have heard of your land. It’s mostly farmland as I recall,” at least, it was when the books that talked about the human lands were published.
“Do you have a name, Scholar from Hurst? Or shall I call you by your title?” she asked. Astraea didn’t know whether it would be safe for her to help him, but if all he did was study them, learning, that couldn’t harm anyone, right? In her opinion, maybe if mortals learned about them maybe they wouldn’t want to hunt them, so she was inclined to help.
“Most of my people don’t like outsiders, so I don’t know if you will find anyone willing to teach you,” she explained to the boy, still doing her best to keep her distance despite the curiosity she felt.
