Tierney is tall and slim, standing at a solid six feet tall. He has a rounded, youthful face and thick eyebrows. He has short, red hair that's usually smoothed down, as well as light hazel eyes. He dresses in simple, practical clothes, though he never objects to dressing up nicer if the situation calls for it. He is right-handed.History:
1862 | In the late hours of the night, Muirenn Walsh gives birth to her second son. The child, named Tierney, proves to be difficult, frequently waking the members of the household during the night. Later in the year, Muirenn births another child—a daughter named Una.Personality:
1864 | Another Walsh daughter, a girl named Finley, is born. Tierney, as demanding as he is, does not like the appearance of another baby in the household.
1866 | Another daughter is born to Tierney's parents! The four-year-old is as frustrated as ever—especially since he can't pronounce the name "Eireen" without a lisp (and most annoyingly, his nanny's insistence on correcting him!). Sometime not too soon after her birth, Tierney shows his first sign of magic during a family outing near their home.
1870 | During a family trip to a magical fair, Tierney discovers the wonders of magical creatures. Though he'd seen a few that had been rehabilitated on their family farm, this was the first time he was exposed to some of the larger, more dangerous ones.
1873 | Tierney goes off to Ilvermorny and is sorted into Wampus. He finds that he excels best in subjects that rely on intellect rather than simple magical ability. He suffers the most in potions, though a few study sessions throughout the year is enough to get his grades up to par.
1874 | Tierney returns home during the summer with a new friend: Jon Danvers. The two boys are incredibly close, but he seems to take a liking to Tierney's sister that makes him feel a little jealous sometimes. Nevertheless, the three of them become a close trio and get into trouble together.
1875 | Tierney tries his hand at quodpot and it doesn't go too well. He decides to stay away from athletics that require him to hover fifty feet above ground and instead focus on passing his classes.
1877 | His constant growth spurts and hormone changes cause Tierney to spend much of his year as a brooding ball of anger. He almost gets kicked out of school for getting into too many physical altercations, but the teachers choose to instead put him through corporal punishment.
1880 | Tierney graduates from Ilvermorny and follows his father's footsteps into magizoology. He spends the latter half of the year on a trip to Arizona to study thunderbirds in their natural habitat.
1883 | Tierney graduates from Ilvermorny and follows his father's footsteps into magizoology. He spends the latter half of the year on a trip to Arizona to study thunderbirds in their natural habitat.
1884 | Tierney is given a bad image of the Britain when Una's heart is broken by one of their sleazy citizens. The only thing that stops him from tracking down the asshole and straight up murdering him is the fact that his sister is at home and heartbroken. He suggests they travel abroad to study magical creatures, and his sister agrees. They spend time across multiple continents and countries, studying a wide variety of creatures. They begin with enough funds from their parents to get to the first place, and the continue to work their way for a living as they travel. Una works as an animal healer while Tierney offers himself as a field researcher for authors, potioneers, and other people whose professions require an understanding of magical creatures. While they are by no means wealthy, they manage to make connections to get what they need.
1886 | Una somehow convinces him to settle down in Britain temporarily while they're visiting their cousin, Eavan. He's not happy about that decision, and complains about it until his sister manages to shut him up. He soon realizes that he has to do something while in Britain and takes to studying a group of vampires that live in the caverns near Hogsmeade.
1887 | Just in case you were wondering: vampires do not like to be studied. While he's to be off in his own little world, Una seems to be living a life of romantic escapades and adventure—at least to Witch Weekly. He tries to tease her about it, but it sends her head into a ball of fierey flames. Yikes.
Other:ADVENTUROUS. CURIOUS. LOVING BROTHER. FLIRTATIOUS. STRONG EDUCATOR. CAN BE CHARMING.
Notable elements of his/her personality:
Sarcastic | With little other ways to productively handle emotions such as frustration and anger, Tierney frequently throws sarcastic comments into his conversations. Though he can come off as snarky sometimes (especially if you've been deemed distasteful in his eyes), his sarcasm usually serves to bring dry humor into a conversation.
Pessimistic | If something can go wrong, it's likely that Tierney's already commented on that fact. Though he secretly holds hope that things will turn out all right, he's sure to let everyone know how terrible their ideas are and how he's going to murder them if they get into trouble.
Sassy | A master at subtle sass, Tierney has been known to raise a few eyebrows with his back-handed remarks. Whether it's making insinuations about someone's intelligence or returning someone's overly-dramatic tone, Tierney doesn't think twice about throwing shade.
Protective | Do not think about messing with any one of Tierney's siblings, especially his sisters. His protective nature has also been known to extend towards his close friends and distant relatives, especially when he's sure that some harm will come to him as well. With his protectiveness also comes the sass and sarcasm ten-fold.
Gentle | While he can come across as harsh and brash sometimes, it's known among his family members and friends that Tierney has his soft spots. With younger women, children, and especially magical creatures, Tierney has been known to speak softer, frown less, and offer gentle words of encouragement and a dose of affection.
☛ Tierney is demisexual, but his flirty nature sometimes makes it appear otherwise. While he enjoys light, playful banter, he'd never really consider bedding the woman if he had the opportunity. On top of that, finding a true, deep connection with a woman can be difficult because he depends on similar interests—in this case, magical creatures and the fieldwork associated with it—that many English belles tend not to have!
☛ Tierney can't cast a patronus, probably because he doesn't care to put in the effort.
☛ Tierney reads Witch Weekly, mostly in an attempt to catch anything about Una before Una does. Nevertheless, he sometimes finds the commentary amusing and teases his sister about it.
☛ His boggart is Una getting mauled by something—most often a dragon or erumpent.
