Professor Bowen waited in the charms classroom as the OWL students filed in and took their seats. She stood with her back to the board leaning gently against the wall. A small dark thunderstorm no larger than two quaffles stacked on top of each other rumbled along slowly on her desk, every so often crackling with small flashes of lightning.
Isla stood upright and walked over to the board as the hopped to attention and floated up to wait for her. Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well, I quite enjoyed watching all your performances in the duels so well done those that took part. It was good to see lots of students confident enough to use their magic in the competition, particularly when there was quite a technical disparity between the bottom and top of their year category.
With a gesture from the professor, the chalk floated up and wrote the words Atmospheric Charm on the board.
”The atmospheric charm allows us to create weather effects contained within a small space, such as this little storm that some of you might have noticed. Can anyone tell me what are some of the practical applications of such a spell?” She asked lifting her head to wait for some answers the classroom as she walked around the room placing wand movement diagrams in front of each student based on their year group.
”Third and Fourth years will be casting mist and rain respectively. Fifth years shall be casting thunderstorms, you each have a small square of copper that will help to encourage your storm to stay on your desk.
The thunder form is quite advanced so younger students please do not be tempted to try it until I have checked your technique on the previous forms. Please begin”
The pages in front of each student had a diagram of the wand form selected for their age and the specific incantation required for each form of the spell. It also had notes regarding the spell. The professor would move around the room demonstrating and answering any questions.
Please add the following code to your first post, situations may or may not come up where it matters in this thread, but it will also be used to build a long term opinion of each student by the professor. Also let me know if you want anything specific for your student.
