Appearance:
Wrath has naturally curly dirty blonde hair, large light blue eyes set in a roundish face which looks rather doll like in its innocent looking cuteness. She stands a little over 5 feet tall with a slim build. When she smiles her eyes light up and many would consider her rather adorable with her doll like and fragile look. Wrath learned long ago to use this to her advantage but mostly in kind hearted ways.
When anger or living up to her name, these very same cute doll-like features can quickly turn into something looking quite evil, even demonic. The living embodiment of ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’. Fortunately it is rare for this side of her appearance to be seen, well except that incident one summer when she slapped somebody for mocking her.
Wrath loves fancy dresses and tries to wear the most modern dresses she can afford, sometimes tweaking them to make them look more expensive than they really are.
History:
Her biological mother was a prostitute in a brothel catering to wealthier cliental who went by the alias Sparkling Waters. After Wrath was fully weaned her mother left her at the doorstep of an old Spinster known to take in unwanted children. If she had any other name, the barely weaned child would never know of it. She was given the name Wrath though most of her siblings started calling her Wrathina unless they wanted to be mean, in which case they called her Rat or Rat-face.
Being dumped on a doorstep wasn’t a very pleasant experience though now she doesn’t remember much about it. Just a vague sense of fear of the unknown and crying for a mother she can’t even picture much less remembering being around. What she does remember clearly however, was the kind woman who took her in and raised her. From that moment on, Wrath was rarely if ever alone.
After adjusting to her new environment she started to warm up to Auntie Clare and the other girls, especially those closer to her age. At the time she was the youngest but not the first child to be adopted around the same time.
Most memories of her first year or two under Auntie Clara’s care are vague, but she does remember the difficulties Malice had adjusting to her new life. Mostly the screams late at night when Malice had a nightmare and over the next few years the tantrums and lashing out. A few other girls came in around the same time as well, but exactly when Wrath couldn’t recall.
What she truly remembers is being cared for by Auntie Clara and having a whole slew of girls around, most only a few years different in age. Like any family however, they had their ups and downs but in the end Wrath would always strive to make peace with her sisters.
When her older sisters left for Hogwarts, Wrath was very unhappy to be left behind. Fortunately she wasn’t the only one staying at home. A few years pass and its finally her turn to go to Hogwarts.
On a cool spring morning in September, 1886, Wrath finds herself looking up at Hogwart’s Castle for the first time. It’s very exciting and a moment she remembers fondly. It was also a scary time given everything was so new and it’s the first time she’ll be away from home for any length of time. Her only real assurance is several of her sisters were still attending Hogwarts.
She’s sorted into Hufflepuff though deep down she would have preferred Griffindor. Wrath considered herself brave and definitely not one to be pushed around but the Sorting Hat insisted Hufflepuff was her place. In the end she was pleased to be a Hufflepuff.
School was more of a challenge than she expected, magic didn’t come to her as easily as she hoped but with hard work and a little help from her older sisters, Wrath did fairly well in most of her classes. Then fifth year came around and the work became even harder. Hunkering down she managed to do fairly well, getting high enough OWLs she could continue into enough NEWT level classes to do a full 7 years at Hogwarts. Unfortunately she didn’t get the grades she needed to become what she always wanted to be, an Auror.
It was during a Defense Against the Dark Arts class during her 4th year when an Auror was invited as a guest speaker when she became obsessed with the idea. The idea of catching evil wizards and putting them into Azkaban appealed to her. It wasn’t so much the act of arresting evil wizards which appealed to her but more the whole process of identifying guilty people and tracking them down. This was reinforced when she came across a magazine one of her Muggleborn Housemates had which contained one of the first stories about Sherlock Holmes.
Disappointed she couldn’t become an Auror Wrath was ready to call her schooling quits and give up any hope of having her dream job. One of her Professors noticed her disappointment and pointed out being an Auror wasn’t necessary for her to be like Sherlock Holmes. He wasn’t Law Enforcement after all but a private detective. Nor would she need NEWT classes but it certainly wouldn’t hurt.
After some thought Wrath decided to return to take as many NEWT level classes as she could. It could only benefit her in the long run and give her more qualifications. Besides, maybe she could find a way to get into the Ministry of Magical Law Enforcement without being an Auror. But that was in the future, the hard part now would be to convince Aunt Clara to help pay for the cost of attending Hogwarts for another two years.
It took some effort and promising to pay back the money before Wrath could convince Aunt Clara to cover the cost of returning to school. To show she was determined to go no matter what, Wrath took on some odd jobs over the summer to help with expenses. These jobs were mostly part time at a few shops catering to women needs.
Now in her final year at Hogwarts, Wrath is eager to graduate and start working as a detective. Already she has dreams of opening up a Private Investigator’s office first thing in the summer and getting all kinds of interesting cases to solve. It won’t be anywhere near as easy when the time comes, but for now it’s almost all she talks about and what keeps up her determination to pass with the highest NEWTs she can come graduation.
Personality:
Despite her name, she comes across as rather bright, eager and friendly. She really wants to be a part of things and strives to be noticed by her own merits and not because she’s one of the many Wakefield girls Auntie Clara took in. Unfortunately her unconventional name carries preconceptions which rarely fit her true personality. As much as she dislikes using a different name, she had started to introduce herself more and more as Wrathina, claiming ‘Wrath’ is more an unwanted nickname than her real name. As much as she wished people didn’t see her name more than whom she really was, Wrath isn’t without her moments of wrath.
If crossed however, she very much lives up to her name. Unlike some of her other sisters, she’s not short-tempered. Instead Wrath is more likely to wait for the perfect moment to strike back, sometimes with a well delivered slap or something far more sinister. How severe her wrath becomes is very much dependent on just how angry she is with another and what they did to earn her ire.
Being one of many girls raised by an old spinster Wrath struggles to be taken seriously and to stand out as an individual not just ‘one of those Wakefields’. She is protective of her sisters though, especially those younger than her. Not that she’s all that old herself, being in the lower half of the bunch when it comes to age. Her goal is to succeed in life, to be more than just a Wakefield, instead somebody of importance. To achieve this she pushes herself both academically and once graduated from Hogwarts, professionally.
Wrath enjoys dressing up, often trying on the clothing of her sisters and even borrowing them (once she asked permission first). What she really wants is to wear the beautiful gowns and dresses she sees the wealthy Upper-class women wear but knows she cannot afford such dresses yet. One of her dreams is to marry a wealthy man but one she loves, not just for his money.
