Appearance: John is average in build and stands at 5’10’’. He is right-handed and tends to exercise good posture. He dresses well for his salary and always makes sure his clothes are presentable. His dark brown hair, on the other hand, always appears slightly unkempt and messy.
History:

• 1869: John is born in Brighton to a muggle pub owner and a welcome witch at the Ministry of Magic.
  
• 1873: John shows his first sign of magical ability when he magically nudged an apple out from a bowl too high to reach.
  
• 1877: With Mr. Griffiths unwilling to leave the fledgling business he had poured so much time and effort into, John’s mother accepts staying in Brighton and mostly gives up using magic outside of trips to wizarding london (mostly for work).
  
• 1880: John receives his Hogwarts letter and arrives at the school with his great-grandfather’s wand and mostly second-hand school supplies. E is sorted into Gryffindor and, after some time getting used to the hand-me-down wand’s inherited quirks, demonstrates a pattern of academic achievement he carried into his second year.
  
• 1882: John enters his third year, selecting Muggle Studies and Care of Magical Creatures as electives. His exam scores this year are exemplary, including a near perfect Charms final.
  
• 1884: At the end of John’s fourth year, a series of financial misfortunes for the Griffiths family and a single Acceptable grade in Care of Magical Creatures meant the money just wasn’t there for his fifth year. John does not return to Hogwarts to complete his O.W.L.s. He does occasional odd jobs in Brighton and saves up for more advanced books for (theoretical) continuing education in magic.
  
• 1886: John works as a cook at his father’s pub, accepting a reduced salary to help keep the struggling business afloat. No longer burdened by underage magic, he practices his spellwork in secret.
  
• 1889: Business at the pub picks up and John also fills in as a barkeep.
  
• 1892: John is nearly caught performing food-related charms in the pub’s kitchen after hours. He and his parents decide it is better that he go somewhere where he can participate freely in wizarding society. He quits his job at the pub and moves to Hogsmeade. Interested in magical food and remembering the store from Hogsmeade weekends at school, he gets a job at Honeyduke’s Sweet Shop.
