Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

George had written the short, but polite letter with the bubbles of stolen champagne still popping at the edges of her senses. On reread New Year's Day, it had been...surprisingly sound, but the Ravenclaw had not gotten up the nerve to send it. Indeed, every few days, she would read the text once again before finally committing it to the feathery custody of a school owl more than a month later.
It was in the world now.
Who knew what it would bring back as a souvenir.

Mr. Swann,
You do not know me—indeed, it is unlikely you even know of me—but I am acquainted, at least, with your reputation and that of your firm. I find myself with a matter of estate and inheritance that needs further examination, and the lawyers with whom I have previously dealt are representative of both myself and the other party, bringing a conflict of interest into play. In addition, the matter is particularly delicate, requiring more discretion than I expect is usually the case.
Please be advised, however, that I am largely inaccessible. As such, all work must be conducted via letter, or any meetings will be at rather irregular times. If these terms amenable to you, please respond at your earliest convenience. I am, of course, in a position to provide the appropriate compensation.
I am honored to hear that my reputation proceeds me in such matters. I shall certainly be able to assist with this matter and shall handle it with the discretion due to such matters.
If you can send me further details and all relevant information I can begin to work on this case.

He had written back. It had taken George a few days to gather the necessary information, to carefully mold it into a reply. George could not include the original will, for it contained far more information than she was willing to reveal to Mr. Swann at present, requiring her to rewrite passages at length. At last, however, the seventh year ascended the staircase to the owlery and watched her bird take off into grey skies.

Mr. Swann,
I appreciate your taking on my case. I understand that these circumstances are unorthodox, and I appreciate your patience and your discretion.
My father perished some time ago, leaving myself and my younger brother his heirs, as one would expect. We are named each specifically in the division of all monies and investments, and so I am not overly concerned by this portion of his Last Will & Testament.
His main property, however, has been left to his "Eldest living Son" (see the appendix I have created for the passage in full). On paper and to the eyes of society, this is, indeed, myself, and I am poised to take ownership this year following my gra a lengthy probate. I am concerned, however, of how this transfer might be impacted if my status is brought into question by the revelation that I am, in fact, not his eldest living son.
As you can no doubt imagine, this concern has weighed heavily upon me since his passing. I am hopeful that you will be able to provide more clarity to my situation.
