Mel,

Just writing to check in, been a while since I've seen you. I hope miss Eleanora is giving you a chance to sleep these days. Looks like my days of sound nights are over yet again, it's early to tell, but I think there's another on the way. I won't know yet for sure for a few weeks yet and I haven't told Edric, but I can feel it in my bones. I'm dog tired and I can't even look at meat without wanting to wretch, just the smell of it. My body aches. I swear there's a tiny bump too. I know each one after the first can show sooner, but this is wild! Maybe I'm just bloated, but I'll eat my own hat if I'm wrong.

My apologies, I bubbled over because I needed to tell someone. I do hope all is well with you and the family and I hope we can catch tea sometime soon!
Sincerely,
February

Dear February,
Have you heard about the explosion at the Ivy Leaf Café nearly two weeks ago? I ask only because it will help explain the current situation.

You see, during that explosion I suffered an unfortunate head injury that has left me with a large lapse in my memory — just over two years to be exact. I remember you from school, of course, and I have vague memories of interacting throughout the Seasons. However, I have no recollection of how we became friends. Are we very close then? It's been quite troubling trying to reassemble the pieces of my life for the last few years.

Memories aside, I must wish you a sincere congratulations! Babies are wonderful and I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy. Will your husband be thrilled with the prospect of another child? (I presume you have at least one given the contents of your letter.)

As for Eleanora, she's quite well. It certainly took some getting used to to fall back into a routine with her, but we seem to be making steady progress. Reuben is at least confident leaving us alone together again.
Sincerely,
Melody

Mel,

My goodness! What a shock! I had heard, but hadn't heard of anyone directly involved. I do hope you are well otherwise?

We, ah, yes have become closer friends over the last year or two, I suppose. We've found ourselves in similar circumstances over that time and both have girls about the same age. I am expecting my third currently, of that much I am sure. I feel like I should probably not disclose much else and perhaps give you time you recover. I am relieved to hear Eleanora is well, as are you, all things considered.

How is Mr. Crouch handling everything?
Sincerely,
February

Dear February,
Congratulations are in order first and foremost. Is pregnancy treating you well?

On a more serious note, I must beg you to share any details you have with me. I'm struggling to piece together what my life was like and how I got here. Mr. Crouch has been entirely unforthcoming with details and has painted a flowery life that I cannot make sense of. Our housekeeper continues to look at me strange and acts as though she is my nursemaid and not my staff. It's infuriating, honestly. If you know anything please tell me.
Sincerely,
Melody
