Little plot idea I had for 2-4 adult characters. They're all caught in the wrong place at the wrong time and get cursed, but not with anything that would kill them. Rather, it impacts the way their speech is perceived by others. For example, character might try to say one thing and people around them hear the opposite, or everyone hears them in a sarcastic tone that gets them into trouble, or it comes across as pure gibberish.

They have to work together to figure out what happened and how to break the curse, since they're the only ones who can communicate smoothly with each other while the curse is in effect. Unlikely friendships formed, maybe?

Anyway, low stakes, no set timeline, just a fun little ongoing thing. Anyone want to join in?

I was thinking of using Eldritch Morgan which could complicate things if you go with Christabel- up to you if that's interesting or not since this is a "wrong place wrong time" deal I don't particularly care who gets involved. Anyone who could be in a London shop is most likely fair game!

Alright folks, post in this thread with your chosen tribute at your convenience. One of the items in the shop will set off the curse, and you can choose the effects for yourself- the only requirement is it should impact their ability to be understood by others.

Feel free to do follow up threads with other people too (eg Kit I'll probably want Morgan/Clary ) and then this can progress to the "problem solving and collaborating" phase once your characters get sick enough of everyone misunderstanding them.

I was already going to harass you for Morgan/Clary because she will be like I thought we were having a sort of cordial animosity where I say something and you say something sassy back - but now you're just being plain rude. >
