"You think you can take me?" She asked with a smirk. Jesse hadn't gone through nearly the same amount of training as she. Even if Gabe passed along a few helpful hints Fallon was overly confident in her abilities to win any challenge. "I was best in my year," she added a bit smugly. Arrogance wasn't an attractive quality, she knew, but she remained proud of her work. A small dose of it now and again wouldn't ruin his view of her.

"As you should." His injuries were far more severe than hers. Or, at least, far more visible. Truthfully, the reason she hadn't gone back sooner was because of the assassin. "Broken ribs are a rough recovery even with magic. A few extra weeks to heal won't hurt you."

"I don't think, I know I can." He said it with a confident smirk, but was also pretty sure she would kick his ass if he wasn't at the top of his game. So far the only thing he was really sure he could best her in was transfiguration, but that only got you so far. He'd have to brush up on his charms and counter-spells. "So was I." Not best, best, and not at something equivalent to the auror training program, but he did pretty well for himself in school.

He shrugged very gently. "I'm very familiar, not the first time." There would be permanent damage if he broke them a third time, of that he was sure. "I'll be right as rain in a few days." Or not, but he was getting out, that was for sure. "No, but the boredom might kill me." He sighed dramatically, reaching for another cookie.

"We'll just have to see you try," she challenged. They could fight hand to hand and she would still best him, having learned years ago how to use her small stature to her advantage. Already, Fallon was thinking of different places they could go to have such a duel. That list, however, was severely limited. Perhaps they could enchant her living room to be a space better suited for battling. Malou might be angry, though. "What's the winner's prize?"

She rolled her eyes at his dramatics. Yes, being stuck in a hospital was boring, but at least he was alive. (Fallon momentarily had another flash of suppressed worry for Lachlan. Why had he left so abruptly? Was he alright?) "I'll mail you some defense textbooks for you to study up on. That should keep you occupied for a few days at least." Fallon shrugged. Then, with a mischievous grin, she pulled his cookie holding hand over her and took a bite of his cookie.

She seemed quite confident too, but Jess supposed she had every right to be. She did have training he didn't, but he had a little bit more experience in the ministry than she did, plus from what he could tell, he'd been the better student between them, but who knew. Only time would tell. "Oh the prize, hmm, dealers choice? Or loser makes dinner, tough decision." He'd leave that up to her.

"I won't say, no, even reading is a welcome distraction these days, but we have gone over I'm a quick study right?" He had more to add about adding fuel to the fire, but then she was brazen enough to steal his latest cookie choice and his jaw dropped open as he stared at her in mild astonishment. "If I wasn't broken, I'd make you pay for that." In the future he certainly would, but he was confident he could take her physically, if not magically. He quirked an eyebrow at her suggestively, though didn't dare add any more than that.

Loser makes dinner would make them both losers if she lost. Fallon was so hopeless in the kitchen that if it weren't for some handy charms she would set the tea kettle on fire. "We can think of the prize day of," she laughed. "You definitely don't want to eat anything I cook." Perhaps she ought to let Malou teach her some recipes, though. Practice for if she ever became a wife.

She dramatically chewed the cookie, making sure to emphasize how good it tasted with a happy mmm. "You could try. But I'd just best you again." Quick study or not, Fallon knew she could handle him. He wasn't anywhere near as tall as Lachlan (whose physical form did intimidate Fallon some).

"I see how it is," He make a little noise of disapproval before snatching another cookie off the plate. If he wasn't still sore, it would be a whole different game.

Only time would tell indeed. It would certainly be interesting to see what came of their impending competition. Back at full strength, he was nothing to sneeze at, but she was a fully trained auror so, who knew.
